I'm retiring from the board. I've checked this site 10+ times every day for the past two years and have been a fan since 8th grade....I'm tired of not knowing what's going on with the band and tired of devoting my time to a band who sold out andcan't even get their PR straight, Goodbye G. Love & Special Sauce

Sold out!!! ha hahahahahahahahahaaaaaa.... that was funny!!

GLASS is more about the music than anything else. GLASS has always been lacking in the PR area from the start. You need to relize that. It's the music that bring us all together!!!

I dont think they *really* sold-out.... aNd ive always said that as long as a band sells out and gets $ out of it.... Im happy. Take for example The Black Eyed Peas.... I love their old shit, their new shit... basically blows. But hey... they're making money and that's all that matters and im happy for them. I know I'd do the same. Maybe just put yourself in their place for a min and see where they are coming from.

Quite Frankly i think G. love is full of shit...he's always talking about how this last album was a return to his roots when it sounds likehis most over-produced album yet! Hewaters down his old stuff ontwo of the songs on the album. "Loving me" has the same guitar part from "Sara's Song". "sunshine"is a shitty version of"gimme some lovin" that also resembles VERY closely "Everybody" and"Rainbow".Philadelphonic and Yeah it's That Easy had a lot of overdubs, but at least it wassomething different, at least there was some sort of thought put into the lyrics the music composition.half of these songs sound like they'd fit in right with"Shifty Shellshock"snew record. If G.sold out then he could at least put in an effort to connect with new fans or something, this site is terrible. Anyonewho saysyou don't have to sell out is an idiot, there are tons of bands who really do care about the music rather than money, Dispatch being one of the shining examples. As i said i've been a fan for years, and i know what G. Love and Special Sauce are "all about". Just because I don't have250+ posts doesn't mean i don't check and read everything on here...I'm not trying to start drama here, sorry if that last post seemed kinda dramatic, butI've been part of this board from day one,and i'mtryin to send out a message about how frustrated I am with this band, the direction they're heading in, and the lack of thought they give to the fans. Dispatch had a shitty site too back in the day, but at least they got on the message boards and kept fans up to date, at least they made an effort......

I just recently purchased the 3 DVD special edition of Clerks (aka
Clerks X). In it Kevin Smith talks about "selling out".
Basically stating the old adage that as soon as you make ANY money off
of something someone is going to label you a sellout.

Wow...where's the love? I think THAT'S what G. Love's all about...love of the music and of life. I really like the comment that was made about artists being labeled "sell outs" anytime they make money doing what they love. Really, if "retiring" is what you feel you need to do then go with it. Do what makes you happy...you know what's best for you.

It's all good that you want to leave the forum, but do you have to be so brutal? Find me an Aerosmith,U2, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, etc. - any band or talent with staying power's song that may sound like one, or have the same lyrics as one they did 10 years ago. It's how they get recognized, it's a familiar bea, rhythem, or lyric that makes them who they are. Garrett has been doing this for 10 years! And you have to understand that there are new fans who may buy this CD, but not the older ones, so to them this is all new. I dunna - I'm just happy people aren't looking at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I'm going to a G-Love concert. AND YOU HAVE TO ADMIT - he's still a LOT better than that garbage that is out now.

Would you hurry up and get leaving over with then? If you're tired of this place you'd be gone by now. Sounds more like you really want to stay and want people to give you reason to. Just my 2 cents.

Natascub, if you actually read Special J's post you would realize that he's not looking for someone to "persuade" him to stay. That's absolutley ridiculous. He gave clear and very valids points on why he's leaving. He has moved on, and if he'd like to read thereplies to the post he wrote, he can. Also, he does have every right to say that he's leaving just like when people post that they're joining, although I do believe that the leaving post is more meaningful than the joining post.Edited by: OneLastLook

I don't know. I think it's good that his music is reaching more people. Imagine how many people will be affected by it. I know all the people on here must get the same feeling I do when I listen to him. I just get so inspired and happy and it reminds me not to let little things bother me and all that stuff. So if he's touching people that way it'll be better for everyone. The world needs to lighten up-anyone can see that, and if he can help some people do that good for him. That's what he's all about.
