If anyone ever comes through the STL, and like blues music, you should stop by the Beale on Broadway which is on south broadway, right south of I-40. Rich Mcdonough Band is unbelievable!! Best guitarist i have ever watched play in front of me.. He usually plays there on Wednesday and Friday nights. Wednesday he plays acoustic slide and Friday is electric. He is amazing. Every time I see him it seems he is playing with different people, and they are just as amazed as the audience. Also they have great chicken wings!!! I have never seen a person walk through the door who didnt get blown away by his guitar playing. Theres a website for the bar, www.bealeonbroadway.com .
Also right across the street is BB's Jazz, Soups and blues, another bar which is highly recommended. Bennie Smith and the urban blues express plays there once a month, i think its the 1st Saturday of the month. Hes one of the most famous Blues musicians from STL. STL didnt name there Hockey team the STL Blues for nothing!!
Peace

Definately check it out wednesday night if u get a chance. Thats when Rich Mcdonough will be playing. On Wednesday nights he plays acoustic slide. The bar owner collects old acoustic slide guitars and lets Rich play em.. Its pretty tight.. If u want to check the website its www.bealeonbroadway.com (http://www.bealeonbroadway.com)

I might be able to make it out!

Peace Bo

Alrighty then...BoPicasso is the Motherfeckin' man, even though we didn't get to hook up. Rich Mcdonough Band was incredible at the Beale on Broadway Bar. My man didn't even break a sweat, and fecking blew my mind on the guitar. Played "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" "Shake Yo Money Maker" "Tequilla" etc...etc... so many more. Even teased Jimi Hendrix "Machine Gun." Plus, he invited many musician on stage (((after midnight))). We had a Sax player, 3 guest guitarists. Sweet!!! Plus I spoke to my man Gus (who just got off tour with Bo Diddley...DAMN!!!)on the stand up bass for many minutes between sets. So fecking cool. AND!!!....they have the Guiness Stout on tap....of course. So nice.

Thanks Bo, missed ya, but what a great place. St. Louis is in the HIZZZZZY. Fo-shizzy, my nizzy.

Hahahahaha....I'm oooouuuttttt!!!!

Im sorry I couldnt make it, I had family issues to tend to. Its hard for meto make it out during the week. But im glad u enjoyed the band. Everytime I see em, I get blown away to. Just about everytime I saw them play, theyhave someone sit in with them.OnFriday nightshe plays the electric all night. He played the acousticslide mostly last night right??Cause usually Wednesday nights isacoustic night. Also did u notice that place only has 1 bar tender (its small). Whenalot of people pile in there,that1 bar tender still waits thetables and handles the bar with no sweat, pretty nice lol.Thats the place I take mywoman when shes in town... Nice little candlelit joint withgreat music! Also in the summer time they set up a stage out back on the patio, and thats where the band plays. I preferinside though, better sound.

Did u see the painting of the black guy on the door at Beale? Thats Bennie Smith. He plays accross the street at BB's once a month on a Saturday night. He was a big part of the begining of STL Blues seen.. Hes great to see also.. But Rich Mcdonough band is just amazing. Everytime I go, I get blown away all over again!
I love it!!!!!

Yeah, I wondered about that painting. That place was sweet. There was a huge group of people there too, celebrating a birthday or something, so they were dancing and singing with the band the whole time. It was very cool. Next time I'm there we will hit it up.

All the st. louis greats are comin out to play.. Its gonna be great! Rich and his band our backin alot of great singers. My opinion, I like to see Rich play inside alot better, seems like better sound all boxed up in the building. But outside is nice to..
