Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I got a few questions about taping. I have tickets for a solo show in this tiny tiny club in Cologne, Germany.
I'm only experienced with AT853/micstand taping.
So now I read that G. Love allows sbd taping. Do you think they'll allow it at that show also? What cable do I have to bring for sbd -> md? And how does Chris look like? (I wanna approach the right person)
Otherwise is mic stand taping allowed, too?
Thanks a lot for reading. Help would be appreciated. I'm very much looking forward to the show.

Chris has longish brown hair. Sometimes has a spacey look on his face. Really nice though, and always very helpful.
As far as cables for the board. Be prepared for anything. Most recently
I got a patch with XLR cables. Female end goes into the board, and
you'll need a way to get it down to a stereo mini for your MD.
Stand taping is also cool. Now, I say that for US venues. I've always
heard that venues in Europe were a tad more difficult, but if you've
got experience you should know what's up.
Good luck, and share the wealth when you're done!

thanks to both of you :-)
I'll ask Chris for a feed for sure. Otherwise I'll try mic stand taping. The club is tiny and has low ceiling, so if it's really full I doubt I'll be able to find a good spot for it though. I dont even know if many people in Gemany know G.Love...I saw Teitur in that club and about 25 people showed up! lol I think it holds no more than 100 people. If everything doesnt work, I'll stealth it. I'll make sure to put it on the archive, of course.
Taping is very seldom in Europe, yeah. I always make sure that I print out a taping policy to show it to the bouncer. But so far I havent had any problems with tape-friendly bands here.
Thanks a lot for all your help. :-) Great forum

I would try to bring XLR cables. Those are the inputs that heuses the most. Generally, Chris doesn't show up to the soundboard until about 10 minutes before G. goes on stage. So don't worry if you don't see him beforehand. He's very approachable too, and is very accomodating. Bring some RCA cables as a backup in case there is a CD burner or something else to plug into. Otherwise, resort to audience taping, it shouldn't be a problem either.
