is there anyone here from columbus? or have any of you ever been?
reason for my inquiry: I'm trying for a scholarship at Columbus College of Art & Design, and wonder what its like there in Columbus, what kind of housing is available, and how much I can expect to pay for a smallish, one bedroom type of place...if anyone knows anything about this city, plese let me know! any info would be greatly appreciated!

I live in Cleveland which is about 2 hours from Columbus. I actually saw G Love & SS there in April and am going back for the February show. Columbus is great. Not as cold as Cleveland as it is more South. It's clean, a lot of good shows go there, the school is top-notch and the campus is beautiful. There is so much shit to do there as far as cool litle shops, fun bars, etc. Everything is within walking distance. It's really not that expensive. It just depends on what area you live in. I'd say it's about $500 or so a month for a one-bedroom that's nice, but you can find something cheaper I'm sure. Good luck!

I lived in CBus for about 8 months 5 years ago. It was cool. There is a big college scene because of OSU. I saw GLaSS there twice, once at the Newprot, and once at PromoWest Pavilion. They get alot of live music because of OSU. Germantown is also cool. Lots of pubs and clubs. Don't know about housing prices because I lived in the company condo. I would assume it is like any semi-big city. A decent single place is probably around $500-$600. Iknow bothBimDog and Brijahn live there.

Yep, lived here most of my life except when I went to school. Good city with plenty to do. Rent for a single might be a little more than 500-600, but not by much. PM me if youhave any more questions, and I'll try to help.
an update, if any of you care...
well, I've been accepted to the school, now I'm just waiting to see how much aid I can get to actually attend. crossing my fingers for that hefty scholarship!smileys/smiley10.gif

I'm really super excited, but I'm also very nervous. I've never lived alone before, so it's going to be strange. well, that is, if I get to go!
