Has anyone ever gone to the roo and got the VIP tickets? Is it worth it?

I don't know B. I was talking to my girl and she asked me about that this morning. 1027$ for 2...hanging out on the stages, bomb camping, food, drinks, backstage? I think it might be worth it...if you can afford it.
PERRY
01-19-2005, 06:29 PM
That's a lot of jack. Plus other expenses, like travel and your lookin at close to 2g. give or take. Hope you get pretty close to the action and drinks back stage for that $$$. If I had the $ I would do it. I'm broke.

I know, it is expensive butsometimes those VIP passes are worth it. I gotta see...

Coming from an all access point of view...
yes it is f'n worth it. when its all muddy and shit and they have to put down those wooden planks, where do you think they go first. VIP gets everything first. we even pick up their garbage first. well, i guess the actual venue goes first but out of the camping. the walk is really not bad at all. some of the spots youget stuck in are like an hour walk from the venue. portos get serviced. umm... you will get to see the band up close and possibly walking by. oh. there are bleachers for sitting or standing, dancing, whtvr. i think that it is worth it.

In just short of two and a half years, Beam has released 2 albums (2002's The Creek Drank the Cradle and 2004's Our Endless Numbered Days) and two EPs (including 2003's The Sea and the Rhythm). Recorded in August 2004 with Brian Deck at his Engine Studios, Iron & Wine's latest release is striking both for its broadened palette (percussion, piano, violin, electric guitar) and its thematic focus on female characters both archetypal and personal. The latter is mostly coincidental, a larger batch of songs yielding recurrent imagery when pared down for this EP.
The increasingly complex beauty of Iron & Wine's albums might best be summed up by a quote from a review of Our Endless Numbered Days in Spin: "Beam is a fearlessly accessible songwriter, framing his melancholy in concrete imagery and solid, inviting melodies. He writes with the self-confidence of a man at peace with his gauzy gifts. He sings like a father talking to a child he respects or like a husband to a wife he adores. Beam has given us his second straight masterwork: self-assured, spellbinding and richly, refreshingly adult." Here's the third.

Tickets for the 2005 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival are on sale now through Bonnaroo.com (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3d94-rOfNQaIYkcWabBjLveuWjf44';).
Complete festival information is available at Bonnaroo.com (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3da9-IljqQpUmKlycjlNp1JUPv9Y0';), which will be continually updated.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifKings of Leon (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3dbe-B7rxQCp_UPAHN_1j0Yys52jx';)
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
Kings of Leon's second record, Aha Shake Heartbreak, finds the band - brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill, and first cousin Matthew Followill - delving deeper than ever into their rich musical rapport and shared personal history to deliver a dozen doses of raw, personally-charged rock.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifDJ Krush (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3dd3-GZOkQJPt63LcHVEEq48M1KAx';)
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
A gifted producer & DJ with a superb sense in mixing and composing his sound, DJ Krush has been well-received in the international club scene. Aside from his outer-national activities as producer, re-mixer and DJ, he constantly expands his field from soundtracks for films, TV dramas & commercials to live sessions with various musicians that transcends music genre.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifRJD2 (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3de8-DOLMQfk.pfHImVyi3PhgMFHJ';)
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
On his breakout solo debut, Deadringer, RJD2 sent listeners on a musical foray into instrumentalism, feasting on styles both old and new, and in the process creating a sound that's emerging as one of the most interesting and exciting new voices in instrumental music.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifBlue Merle (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3dfd-BXoMQgOc_ePZkPVHlIVR64aG';)
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
Guitar, mandolin, fiddle, upright bass and drums isn't typical rock band instrumentation, but that's turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Blue Merle. Despite its mostly acoustic instrumentation, the band is well practiced at the art of catching an audience unaware and transporting it to a place of pure rock pleasure.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifAmos Lee (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3d12-javKIl.Q6eerXDu7BEkIY.3w';)
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
Taking inspiration from soul greats Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers and folk legends, John Prine and Dave Van Ronk, Amos Lee directs his music with a spirit and presence rooted in American tradition. Amos delivers a unique brand of folk-soul music that aims to unite, uplift, and inspire.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifAssembly of Dust (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3d27-z9dmIqI34dyMduu1DMnWVoiC';)
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
The music Reid Genauer makes with Assembly of Dust could be labeled "hick funk", and has been compared to the likes of Paul Simon, CSNY, and The Band.

In addition to our 24/7 internet broadcast (click on the lower right hand corner of the homepage at Bonnaroo.com (javascript ol'http://mailgun1.rlc.net/ct/click?q%3d3c-tKlRIcIy_DfW.jv8nVWQjh4e';)), we're proud to introduce Radio Bonnaroo, a monthly series of radio specials to be broadcast on terrestrial radio stations throughout the country. Hosted by the renowned Rita Houston, of WFUV-FM New York, the music on each Radio Bonnaroo episode invokes the spirit of the Bonnaroo Music Festival. Each program features one hour of music including spontaneous collaborations, rare live performances, commercially unavailable songs, interviews, b-sides and remixes. The highlight of each show is a segment we call Hotel Bonnaroo: Â a unique, previously unheard studio collaboration. We invite two artists into a studio for one day to record a song that will be heard exclusively on Radio Bonnaroo.
The program is being syndicated to over 45 radio stations nationwide. A new show will air each month.
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gifEpisode 1:
http://images.musictoday.com/stores/images/spacer.gif
Radio Bonnaroo opens with with Dave Matthews and Friends covering Peter Gabriel's classic song "Solsbury Hill". The song features Trey Anastasio on guitar. We then hear Trey performing with Jamaican reggae legends Toots and the Maytals. Later in the program, Trey joins us to discuss his future plans, take a look back at Phish, and talk about the spirit of collaboration.
The first episode of Radio Bonnaroo is filled with musical gems including unreleased music from Gillian Welch, a live jam from Wilco, an exclusive Joss Stone performance, new Jack Johnson, a rare Bright Eyes tune and a visit to REM's tour rehearsals. The highlight of the program is a visit to Hotel Bonnaroo for a never before heard collaboration between Warren Haynes and Gomez. The result is radio magic and musical history!
Below is a list of stations who have confirmed their broadcast of the program. We're expecting more to be added soon. Tune in and let us know what you think.
