I just saw "Letters from a Porcupine" for the first time last week. I've watched it about 8 times since then. My friend let me borrow it and I'm totally going out to but it as soon as I have the cash. I will admit that I do burn dvd's from time to time but will not to this one. He has a kid you know. Nico Blue. The film is beautiful and touches me in a different way each timeI watch it. There is a part at the end that talks abouthis death. If you have a person thatis close to you that suffers from the disease of addiction then watch this with them . It will provide inspiration and hope and a bit of fear. Shannon Hoon was a beautifil person and I can honestily say that watching this has changed me and some of my loved ones that are hurting right now. The music is incredible. buy it. watch it. share it. Let me know what you think.
R.I.P. Shannon Hoon

Monica we were listening to some of our rare music last night and came across some blind melon and I thought of you. It is a 20 some odd minute version of No Rain that Mr. R. found one day, it is awsome! If you or anyone else for that matter would like a copy hit me up on email or pm. One Love. Was it '95 he died? Hard to believe it has been like 10 years. R.I.P. Shannon

Oh man, I about pissed my pants when I saw this topic! I was a HUGE melonhead back in the day. Listening to their stuff now makes me wonder how big they would/could have got. AWESOME band none the less.
Yes, Shannon was a teriffic person and an awesome performer. The video was rather hard to get even a while back, here is a link where you can get it now www.blindmelon.com (http://www.blindmelon.com)
It's so cool to see that other people listen to Blind Melon. In my mind they will never die!
P.S. A cool little note...when they performed change on David Letterman Shannon had the question mark on his forehead because of the recent death of Curt Cobain. Man....I just thought about it...I know way too much trivia on the bad. VH1 also had a pretty sweet Behind the Music of Blind Melon too.

i have that version from the letterman show, it rocks. It is a sad thought to think he was questioning Kurts death only to die shortly after.

I really miss these guys. Great music still today. They formed another band, Unified Theory, but it wasn't the same without Shannon.

Notes: This is the complete I&I performance featuring Blind Melon on DVD. Also included is a packed extras menu including Galaxie from David Letterman 1995-09-21, Shannon & Rogers hosting MTV Beach House 1995... Joey Ramone even shows up (??!!), a few acoustic demos plus several radio appearances & live tracks including a rare performance from 1993-03-25 at The Wetlands club, NYC (mislabeled on the DVD as being from 1992).
Source: I&I was transferred from a first generation tape. Excellent audio and video from VHS source.
Video: The video after it was digitally transferred was run though a light video filter to any remove VHS noise. A small amount of color correction implemented to bring out the color. The video was remastered into 16X9 ratio. DVD video was encoded in a VBR format with min=2000 avg=4500 max=8000. Because of a video blemish at the bottom of the screen, the video was cropped to a 16X9 ratio "Widescreen" to hide the video glitch. Other than the hidden glitch I&I is in perfect condition. NTSC.
Audio: The audio was digitally restored to remove any broadcast noise. The audio was also raised by 8db to add more punch. The DVD contains both Dolby Digital 2.0 (stereo) and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. The 5.1 track has been completely remastered to give the best spatial sound possible. *Please note the extras are in Dolby Digital 2.0 only* The 5.1 mix is for the main feature only. Only use the 5.1 audio option if you have a 5.1 setup. Otherwise choose the DD 2.0 option. The default sound stream is DD 2.0
