Noramac, welcome to this very cool forum. No need to try and convert me, I'm already hooked. Saw your bro in Indy. Killer performance. Had the opportunity to meet and speak with him after the show. Very humble and funny man. Killer cd. Love it. Can't wait for no. 2 and live disc (?) he's suppose to be working on. Anyway, take a look around the forum--you'll like it.

Peace.

wow! that is great, I just listened to a few of the older tracks...how can you go wrong with discount ho's in the title of a song? a breath of fresh (fishy, syphillis ridden, with green purulent drainage) air. I also quite like, "rat-a-tat-a-tat, mama here I come, love the lyrics when they scat like that" (you know what? I do too love the scat. amazing)
but the older cd is still out of stock.

up in this- blood on the banjo remix. I am lovin' this. I feel like I'm a kid in a lyrical candystore, gorging myself on fireballs, fuzzy peaches, cherry blasters, fashioning a sticky candy necklace into a tiara to adorn my frizz, snorting a buffed up ascorbic acid powder through a pixie stick with the end bitten off, if you're looking to get some on the street, it's called the 'sour dust'

I was at the gym this morning working off my rhubarb MUFFins (I ate more than a few) and the song 'son of it all' came on. I haven't really listened much to the newer album yet, cause I was still working through the older one.
Anyway, I'm really impressed with his lyrics. I think it's really something, when someone is a poet, not only a musician. I mean, if you looked at the lyrics on a page, they could stand alone as some sweet ass verses, without the 'melody and beats-melody and beats' to back it up.
On the other hand, I guess it's a musical feat in itself, when someone can say 7 one syllable words through a whole song and yet the thing kicks ass cause the melody and beats carry it.
I digress and obsess like a tigress that binged all out on mistah tiger's excess weak and slow antelope flesh. (that's nonsense)

Fab video sway thanks. Do you think it's a slice off of the big block of government cheese? Do you guys have that? From the very imformative urban dictionary:

A BIG, HARD MASS; A BLOCK OF ORANGE-YELLOW PROCESSED "USDA CHEESE FOOD" ISSUED BY "DA GUBMENT" United States GOVERNMENT to aid needy families by supplementing their food resources. Used for making Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Macaroni & Cheese but ALSO CAUSES severe, bowel obstructing constipation, silent but deadly stinky gas, and / or "the runs" diarrhea in those who are lactose intolerant.

ha ha
in my paper the other day, there was a piece warning parents to be on the lookout for cheese in their communities and wary of children talking about cheese in manners other than the grilled cheese variety. So they say, cheese is a name for crushed up tylenol and heroin mixed to together to create a snort cocktail.

hey can I have some cheese food product? nice ring to it

I've been listening to the newer one a lot the last few days and the one taking the lead as my favorite is 'gimme somma your love' I like the lyrics, especially "hey, I know it's only 7:30, but your sheets are clean and my mind is dirty"
down the tangential road.....brought to my mind the song 'clean sheets' by the descendents, which, "hark!" I couldn't remember all the words anymore, so I looked em up and studied em, cause that's what freaks sometimes like to do. the don song is a happy one, the descendents one is a reflection of bitter misalignment, but it's a good song too.

Clean sheets mean a lot to a guy who sleeps on the floor
I wanted your love, and a shelf in your dresser drawer
you tucked me in, stopped my tossing and turning
But I turned back the covers and saw those sheets are dirty

Even though you'll never come clean
you know it's true
Those sheets are dirty
And so are you

The warmth of a bed to a guy who sleeps on the floor
Was enough to perpetuate all the lies I heard before
I want to hold you, I'll hold my pillow instead
Cause my pillow will never lie or be with a stranger in my bed

Where's the love I was looking for
It's out the door
I'm afraid to see you anymore
so it's back on the floor
Cause those sheets are dirty

Woke up this morning alone on the floor
Thinking about those clean sheets and the way it was before
When I looked in the mirror, I saw your face and thought of the past
But now I know how dirty you are, I took my fist and smashed the glass

Those sheets are dirty
Those sheets are dirty
Those sheets are dirty

Oh yeah, the Descendents!!!! I found this piture on line from a show at the Metro in Chicago sometime in the mid 80s. I can't say exactly when because I can't find all of my flyers. That's little old me there the very last person at the stage on the left. Some things never change....

oh you betcha. I don't seem to have any of my back in the day photos anymore, but if I did, I'd show you a god awful graduation photo, you know the kind with the wall of books backdrop behind you, clutching the piece of paper tied with a ribbon that meant not too much to me, a freshly shaved burgundy mohawk, a few nose rings, a couple more pimples, a bracelet made of bike chain, and black nail polish. every mama's dream

Miss Shark

By this time I had decided to grow my hair out. My mother had already told me to take 'that thing out of my nose or get out of her house'. Nothing she could do about the tattoo, not shown in the photo. I opted not to go to my HS graduation ceremony.

Funny, I opted not to go to my high school graduation either...I felt it wasn't worth the pomp, something I could coast through that easily didn't seem worth all that, felt like frivolous froo ha ha. I was listening to mr. novocaine at the beach yesterday and I said I could hypothetically imagine a situation where I could kill myself. Now, I don't think this is the kind of thing that other people want to hear, it creates unease I think.
I said that sometimes when this world seems like nothing but atrocities, pain, and injustice- it hangs over like a storm cloud....maybe add in a thunderbolt of guilt for having so much when others have so little. When I feel like that, it's like I'm standing on the edge of a deep black ravine. On the other side, past that yawining abyss, is the madness. I can sense it a bit, it's not like a foreign entity to me. Maybe it's akin to smelling KFC from 3 blocks away. Anyway, I can imagine, if I ended up on that other side, that there would then be a long dark tunnel stretching out the back, with a faint light glimmering in the distance. That would be release. Not that it would make any sense to my self on this side of the ravine, but I think if a person crossed over to the other side, then all bets would be off.

The person I was speaking to said that people don't kill themselves because they can't take the global pain of the world, he said it is because of their own problems they can't deal with. I thought that was kind of a funny response....kind of like,'nope that ain't right, sorry you can't feel that way.'

Whatever, doesn't really matter, creative abstraction, I suppose.
ya think I think too much?

The song really has beautiful lyrics though, you can hear it a page or so back on a you tube link.

sway2sway
06-04-2007, 10:28 PM
you know what else I thought about. (dear gods, can you hear me?) I do this thing where I care so much for a while, till I reach the breaking point, then I say fuck it all, it's a hopeless, it's too broken, it's too messy, too many loose cannons, too much greed, too much looking out for #1, too much divide, it's all too much. I wallow there for a while, then I'm ready to start again. But could this just be a crutch, the easy way out? Is this a mechanism of my own invention to create an alibi for myself? If it's just too much, then I never have to really dig deeper, try harder, be an agent of change. That's possible, but it's also possible that this just be my wiring.
I don't know, life is sure crazy, huh?

tinkerlion

that is a strange response to me. i think that we all have our own way of feeling lost or overwhelmed. what creates that feeling in each of us is individual, there's really no way for someone else to tell them if that feeling is right or wrong.

I'll share with you what a dingbat I am. yesterday when I heard this youtube version of the ho song, I was like there's a whole other second half of this song, and I'm thinking is this just an extra made up part, only for the live experience AND SO I played it over and over, a few times at least, trying to figure out the lyrics, which was not too successful. then i remembered that my song which ends at about 2 minutes, ends sort of in a crackly noise, which i've always thought was a rather poor dismount, but in reality turns out not to be the ending once I redownloaded the gimp off itunes.
but i was very intent there for a while trying to get the lyrics off of youtube, 'wrinkley derriere like you don't care, something menopause, ride the walker and the depends ya daddyO pimp of the gimps, even ugly people gotta get laid and everyone gets a zit on their ass now and again, ain't no shame in that game.'
so you can see how I wasn't doin too well with lyrics, the sound quality of youtube is too blame, cd quality is stellar, no crackles, clear enunciation, you can hear his whiskers vibrate.

fuck what the hell have I gone off on now. big Sway, the wacko bullshitter, that's what they call me and you can believe I've got shit to dirty you for a lifetime, it's the return of the crazy hazy lady, that's what they call me.

stop for chrissakes sake.

anecdotal glockenspiel Spiel:

my 4 year old is in kindermusik which includes a parent participation component, a weekly cornucopia of sugary joy. A momentous day last week....dum dum de DUM, the first instrument (though kindermusk teachers are quick to point out instruments are many and varied and do not have to be something you can buy, it can be your belly or a box of granola. But as far as FORMAL instruments go, we got one), the FOCKEN GLOCKENSPIEL.

We can play hot cross buns (B-A-G) hot cross buns (B-A-G)
one a penny (gg gg) two a penny (aa aa)
hot cross buns (B-A-G)

well, so far just I can play it (kindermusik is an integral part of my self-esteem), good thing since I took god knows how much piano, if I couldn't figure out beginner glockenspiel, then I'd know I really screwed up my brain (PSA fried egg enter left).
I will end this sharing session with this, the part of the glockenspiel which has made the greatest impression upon me, is the faggy way in which you must hold the dinky little mallets- elbows out, use the whole arm like you're a marching wooden soldier, hold the lil wooden pecker with your thumb & 2 next fingers. I believe it is encouraged to stick your pinky proudly out to the side; but, I really can't confirm this at this point in my glockenspiel journey.

(I'm high on outlaw love, listened to it like 7 times while I've been making cookies. or maybe it's the cookies? cookies & love? or is that cookies & outlaws? oooh yeah)

Miss Shark

We're quite the pair 'balatantly subliminal.

you know what I need today: distraction. I got the itch. Feeling good + 2 days of no work stretching out in front of me= itch. I've been 'itchy' since 5 this morning. I can't even trust myself to drink the afternoon away, cause next thing I'll be buying the smokes and then I'll be making deals with the gatekeeper in my brain.
well, so far I've been to the gym, got my hair cut, now I'm going out for lunch. tick tock tick tock.
(ha ha this is rather funny, I was on the cross trainer and it has the pulse sensors in the handle, which don't seem so reliable really, but- I'm going at 120 to 140 pulse, then I start daydreaming about illicit activities for a song, then I look back down and it's at 184. damn I'll give myself a heart attack in fantasy even)

Yo Sway,

I don't know how to remove audio from you tube vids but I have the audio track from that Cinco De Mayo show at the Tin Angel. It is where and when that video was shot.
Are you in the Philly area?

no, not quite. if we were a word search puzzle, I'd be the first letter of the super long diagonal word and you'd be the last-- unless the word started at the bottom, then it'd be reversed--those ones are tricky.

big D's got his site all pimped out, fresh pleather mini skirts, see through tube tops, white tassel boots, and maybe even cut out panties (figuratively speaking)

on the music there are some live tracks that weren't on there before. the beginning of freak emcee is quite funny...lions and gazelles, oh my.

i think you heard some of big d in colorado. and i seem to recall you liking it.

on another note eric made a big mistake. he was trying to delete things we didn't listen to off the extra hard driver and deleted big d:mad:. i'm ok until something happens to my ipod.

The vids are a bit campy for me, but I LOVE his music! Plus, he's funny as hell - I crack up all the time while listening. Can't play it in front of the kiddos though...

as well as "Big D is up in this . . . . m-o-t-h-e-r-f-u-c-k-a-a-a-a-a-a !. . . ."
