I love Yeah it's that easyit's my favorite CD of all time but when I bought PhiladelphonicI was disapointed. I felt like all of the sudden they had gotten all dirty and lost some of almost spiritualness. Don't get me wrong there are song I loke on Philaphonic but I want to know what other albums could compare to Yeah it's that easy.
are you kiddn me? dirty? no soul? have you even listened to philadelphonic? you couldnt have if thats what you heard. Philadelphonic is one of the best GLaSS albums to date. It shows the bands evolution as musicians, and it contains some of the best and well written GLaSS tunes. I dont know how you could say that you like Yeah Its that Easy, and in the same post say you dislike philadelphonic. If you expect every new album to sound like Yeah Its That Easy, maybe you should stop listenin

Seriously, if you want to make an argument about losingspiritualness, than you could probably make it about electirc mile, but Philadelphonic was probably their most "spiritual" album to date. Eventhe rolling stone review of the album says it it their most "spiritual" album yet. I mean,on what other album do you find a song like numbers? Philadelphonic is great.

i concur. philadelhonic = good. Ill also agree that if you were to say that about any album, the closest that it comes to in "losing spiritualness" would be Electric Mile, although i consider it more of a "the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you" type of thing.

http://www.philadelphonic.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gifyup, if the rolling stone said it it must be true! on the serious tip i like both, i think yeah it's that easy is best even though i like alot of songs off of philadelphonic better, philadelphonic is awesome too. my favorite song though is this ain't living which is on neither, i also like mellow mood he did with kyle of slightly stoopid. that's a nice tune, i like the demo version best.

Hey stoned soul, that's cute an all, but Ithink ya misunderstood me bud. i wasn't proclaiming that rolling stone is truth, as you the way you took my statement to be. "Eventhe rolling stone review of the album says it it their most "spiritual" album yet." means that even rolling stone could see that it was their most spiritual album. BELIEVE me, i have 0 respect for rolling stone. Did you see their list of the 100 greatest guitarists? it was a popularity contest!

http://www.philadelphonic.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifsorry i was just clowning around, andno i didn't see there list, i can only imagine, your right though when you say it's a popularity contest, that's pretty much how the media works. anyway i'd have to say myfavorite guitarist is dennis coffey. he put out a number of good albums in the 70's and played on a number of hjt records from that era.

Don't worry about it, i was too, that's the problem with writing, there's no way to express sarcasm. Never heard of coffey, but i will check him out.

Don't get me wrong I love Philadelhonic but not every song. I probably shouldn't compare it to Yeah it's that easy because that is the kind of CD you can pop in and listen straight threw every time. Thanks for the comments though. I'll be checking out that one Album Gone Countrysmileys/smiley4.gif

i'm guilty on one thing... i voted twice for 'g love & special sauce'.

i'll have to 'peak' at the thread...but i know what
genre g love, jack johnson, ben harper, etc. appeal to... i'm not
politically aligned with any of them-- so i'll keep my distance on this
board, politically.
just checked.. damn, i'm kind of NOT suprised.
for a taste of real country. www.accuradio.com *twang*
which is NOT limited to the stereotypical country 'twang'.
some of yall would love it and find new bands that kick ass.
