I just wanted to share a bit with you all. While my daughter and I were jammin to the self titled record on our patio a neighbor passed by and asked what we were listening too because she really dug it. I told her it was G.L.A.S.S. and my daughter continued to let her know that G. loves to say "Baby" while she was shakin her booty and singing for the whole complex to see. It was awsome and I hope I have planted the seed for this lady to enjoy something so fine. Edited by: ramble on rose

Way to go, ramble! Keep spreading the word. I haveplanted seeds with mykids and some friends.I'm happy to say the roots are now firmly established with the kids. Theygroove to the discs (carefully edited, of course) and always love hearing about the shows. They refuse to wear their signed concert t's.Theythink of the boysas huge rock starsandthey are always amazed to hear how they mingle after shows. Yesterday, they were adorable--theyhuddled around the desk top to watch (repeatedly) the SNL performance I downloaded.

My "wise and experienced" counterparts, unfortunately, are notas receptive. They tend to be lukewarm at first, but usually warm upafter they borrow my discs. The friends and ladies I've dragged to gigs have all walked away as devotees.

Anyway,Ibetter end this, orI'll have to change my phorum name to Ramble on Ragmop!

Peace . . .

My boy is still a little to young to understand who they are but he likes to dance to them. He also dances to anything that has music. Even the wackiest tv commercials like the nissan zoom zoom zoom smileys/smiley14.gif sportscenter, anything.

Those are all cute stories. Makes me wanna have a kid. I guess I have 23, 6 and 7 year olds until that happens. But speaking of funny things kids say... All the 1st grade classes are working on Leprechaun stories with first, next, then, and last. Here is one of the boys thoughts on how to catch a leprechaun, for once I am happy to say he is not in my class smileys/smiley2.gif

First I get my BB gun. Then I shoot it. Next I make it tell me where the gold is. Last the end.

I look forward to having kids for this reason. It will be so cool dressing them up in little Bob Marley t-shirts...listening to GLaSS, (censored) Chili Peppers, James Brown dancing around. So cool, Baby Cleanface!!!

You guys will love it. It is very coolto see their innocence and willingnessto hear different styles. Iconstantly expose them toDylan, GLaSS, B. Harper, Marley, Dead, Clapton, Hendrix, Van Morrison, Clash, Teddie Hawkins, Elvis (C and P), Janis, Joni, TP, SS, Stones, DF, CCR, (recently) Don McCloskey, JJ, Doors, Toots, the Hook, Otis, Marvin, you name it. (I have actually thrown in some country as well--"fair and balanced," ya know?)

No force feeding, just letting them see that there is a ton of variety and talent out there, and that if it speaks to them they should enjoy it (regardless of what others might say or think). So far, so good.

Have you ever been to a store called Hot Topic? They have awesome t-shirts there. I get all of my friends that are having babies little onezies (sp?) from there. Last one I got was a Nirvana onezie.

Ragmop, I am forever greatful to my father for doing that to me. My first artist addiction was at the age of 5 and it was the Beatles. I would take my dads albums, steal the pictres inside and hang them on the wall. Love it.

I have multiple tye-dye grateful dead onezies I used to put my daughter in, it was the cutest!!!!!!! I love being able to expose her to all tyes of music and just let her find what speaks to her. Now when we go shopping in hot topic type shops she sees marley tees and knows who it is, and everyone thinks she is the rockenist 3yr old they've met. Edited by: ramble on rose

I am so impressed with my girl I have to share. We played a glass song she had never heard and asked her who was singing. While grooving in her seat and with tons of confidence in her voice she shouted G.LOVE!!!!!! We were freakin, it was awsome that she can distinguish his voice on tracks she has never heard.
