OK, so everyone seems pretty pissed about the oil prices these days. What are your thoughts and feelings ondrilling for oil in Anwar Alaska? Some say there is enough oil there toalmost eliminateour dependence on forgein oil sources, and these sources are the reason for the high prices. However, it is part of the Artic National Wilflife Refuge, and drilling could endanger rare species who inhabit the area. Recently, Congress passed legislation to drill.
Personally, it's a tough one. Thoughts???

I believe the reason for the high fuel prices is to fund the war in Iraq. Something is fishy and it seems as though these shady Government oficials are all in cohoots (SP?) I really think they should leave that widlife refuge alone. You never know what delicate balance of nature could be disrupted.

Actually, I was furiousat Congress'srestraint. The original bill called for a lot more development, but those cowards left outprovisions thatallowed construction ofANWAR Disney theme park and resorts, as well asWalmart and Target Superstores!

i'm with you vanessa.
besides, we are fully capable of replacing oil with other natural
resources for power. the gov't is just either too lazy and/or too
greedy to do anything about it.

i think it's f.u.b.a.r. there is enough oil in the gulf of mexico to supply our demand. i mean what's the point in setting aside a national refuge, if only to change them at our every whim and whimsy. i am as patriotic as patriotic can be, but i think this is wrong.

Drill away eh?

I have to tell you guys something. It will go bad. Especially up in Alaska where there is no one to monitor or see what it actually happeneing.Start to think green, not just about new places to get oil. THAT is the problem.
Have we not learned this yet? How many times do we have to do the same stuff over and over before people learn?

No shit. Alternative and renewable fuel sources, ppls. That is the only long-term solution.
