well, the time has arrived, I am moving this weekend. the mister is out now reserving the truck and I have to get a storage unit because our pad is not ready yet. It is nerve racking. We are gonaa be nomads for about 2 or 3weeks. Crazy, but no big thing we are gonna impose on the inlaws!!!! So I may not be around much in the next few weeks. I am gonna miss you all lots.smileys/smiley19.gifBut I will be back and better then ever in no time! You kids be well while I am gone. I was thinking about renting a cabin in the woods for a few days, sounds promising. One love my friends.

thanks ladies. Yeah the inlaws are always good to us. They are preparing for a move the end of summer, so I have a feeling we will be used for manual labor getting the house ready to sell. Will work for Food and slumber.

Hey babies!!! I am back. I have been missing you all tons. We finally got our interent hooked up. Thank heavens. We are all nice and settled in to our new pad, and enjoying newport news, however we have yet to make it down to the beach. I myself have re entered the working world.(drag) It is nice to be out in the world I suppose. I am doing my thing at a pediatircs office, which is cool because it is not to depressing. I do miss hanging with my little one during the day, but thats how it rolls. At any rate we are well, and hoping to get to the SS show at the NORVA. One love to all, and hi to those of you who I have yet to have the pleasure of conversing with.

speaking of going so long without the internet...i am so sad. both of my computers are f'ed up. my one is infected with like 66 virsuses and i don't know what is wrong with my other one. i have t0 figure out how to get rid of all these viruses one the one computer and then i'm going to ask my friend to take a look at my other computer. it is running sooooooooooo slow. it takes for ever to start up, and then even longer to get AOL to work. when aol finally loads, it freezes for a few seconds and then is fine. then it frezzes and then it is fine. i dunno...it is a sad week in south jerseysmileys/smiley19.gif

Yo, I need some advice!!! Can anyone help. Well, I currently live in NY (Born and Raised) on Long Island. I dont know how familiar you guys are with the prices of homes in NY. Well they are through the roof. Some of the cheapest housing is 600 K, and thats for an OLDER home. Well me and my girl are currently renting, and paying an arm and a leg to pay someone elses mortgage. We are currently in discussions to leave the North East all together, and head down south to North Carolina. This would be a major change. One I have a decent job in NYC, and if I go down south, I will no way make the same money, same for her. But then we get to thinking and researching. Number 1, rent is half of what it is up here. So if I dont make the same as I do and my hourly rate gets chopped it looks as though I could still live just because housing is sooo much cheaper down there. In NY you can pay 1,300 dollars for a tiny place, in NC you can rent a house for 700 dollars. Then on top of it all, I could even try to buy a house down there, just because they are so reasonable looking at interest rates and the cost of some of the housing down there, it would almost be a cheaper mortgage payment then it would be to rent. Total lifestyle change, but I think I am ready. NYC is getting to be too much for me. Dont get me wrong I love it, my heart will always be here. But it is getting to be very stressful. I know I am getting all adult on all of you..lol. Any advice as to whether I should take this chance?

hhhmm thats a big leap. i think you seem to have your mind up about movin outta the big apple... if you think nc is the right move for you than go for it. it may be tough but as long as you and your girl are sure thats what you both want and are there for eachother....talk about it a lot and weigh out the pros and cons of wherever you move. sure the morgage is cheaper but the jobs pay less too.....check it out. sounds like your headed in the right direction...hope all works out

Try to save alot of money before u move. Try to find a job there before u move also..

I think living in a place where its cheap is great! I live in Missouri 40 miles west of STL and its hella cheap!! U can get a brand new ranch for 130-150k.. Living is dirt cheap and its nice... And its really really safe and theres alot of stuff to do..

I figure if u live where its cheap, then u can have the money to spend to travel and visit the expensive places... lol

Plus you have family in NY right? So u can always have a place to stay for free to visit..

Well if u have family and parents in NC, that should make it that much easier of a decision.. U have a place to stay till u find a job and get on your feet. The hardest partof the decision for me would bequiting your job and finding a new one..

But I say u only live once, might as well live where u can have more and enjoy yourself.

Thats what I am thinking. Sometimes you have to take chances to be happy in life. One thing my dad taught me is that you have to have balls to get any where in life..The job thing scares me, but sometimes you have to take a few steps back to move forward.

No problem. Another thing is the weather in NC will probably be nicer.. Not as cold. Might have to watch out for a stray hurricane every now and then.. But other than that..

figure out what city you want to move to in nc and call their town hall.. request any movers information and a local sunday newspaper -they should send it to you for free.
the movers information will let you know what the area is like [schools, crime rate, etc] and the newspaper will let you get an idea for cost of things [coupons, store ads, etc], plus it will have want ads to help you find jobs, for sale by owner home ads, blah blah blah.

moving to a new state is scary, but you can never pass up an opportunity foradventure!

B- love, my advise is do it. I know your plight, I too have may family members in Ny and they tell me all the time of how much it sucks to pay the outragous prices up there. Hell even northern virginia is an outrage. The whole dc metro area is the same way. On the job side it is a shock to the system. When I moved here to newport news the offers I got for pay blew my mind. It could not see how people could live on what I am making. However my rent is only 950 for a 1500 sg. ft. home. So it evens out. NC is nice, it just depends on where you go. Like nags head and kitty hawk are a little more in price because it is right on the water, but you go a bit more in land and it is cheaper.

I have moved to the west coast and back again and I love the advenutre of a move too. I would suggest taking a trip down there and checking it out. Like sauce.baby said check out the local papers. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Everyone moves for different reasons.I am just about to take on a job on the other side of the world from all of my family and friends, I am scared to death but I know I love travelling and will have a ball.

Take everyone's advise and check out where your going first.

It sounds like you have a pretty good handle on what you want so take the leap, nothing ventured nothing gained!!

Thanks guys. I have been researching already, reading the local papers, requesting info, etc. I am currently posting my resume on a bunch of job sites for the local area down there. I am always up for a challenge, and a change. I think it will be good. I am going to try to get a job first, but sometimes its hard without seeing anyone in person. But thats my goal. Getting on my hustle yo! Thanks for all your advice and help. Its always good to hear what you guys have to say!! Much love to all!

b-love have you checked out Boston area or even RI. It's starting to get expensive, but you can still make so decent money and pay a lot less for rent/house is you live out side the city!
