Question: My wife is dying to see Jack Johnson. I have seen him a few times already, and she never has. We have a son that will be 8 months old at the time of the concert and she won't go unless he can come too. I would like him to come as well, but am worried about damaging his ears. Is it bad for babies to go to concerts? I am going to put cotton in his ears and maybe get him some headphones as well or something like that to cover his ears. The venue is outdoors, so there won't be as much echo. Just curious if anyone has had any bad experiences with this or not. Thanks for the help.

Definitely take him, but watch the ears. I plan on doing it when i have kids. I will be the guy at Bonnaroo pulling my children in the Radio Flyer wagon. Word.

I think that an outdoor venue (which I am guessing Jack's is) won't be too bad for his ears. Just don't stand close to the speakers.

just stick to the back grassy areas and he should be fine!

i'm waiting for jack or glass or someone to come back to the gorge so i can take my boys. they LOVE to listen to all the brushfire guys on my computer so i know they would dig seeing them live as well. [i'll be the one with the kids dancing around half naked like cute li'l hippies smileys/smiley2.gif] lol

thanks for the input. I got the tickets and gave them to her for her birthday, but I was just unsure of whether it would be good for him or not. I didn't think it would be a problem.

Every time that I see Jack Johnson you'd be amazed at how many people bring their kids to the shows. I took my son to the Jack, G Love, Donovan concert last Sept and he had a blast!! He's 4 though....and it was an outside show which makes it a lot easier with kids.......get him started early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uh as long as it is out oor you should be ok , watch out for smoker tokers and bring sun block, cotton will work fine but it may be better to use this wax type stuff that swimmers use . it molds into the ear and is easy to take out.

i used to work at an outdoor concert venue and i would always feel horrible when people would take their babies to shows that would last allll day. but yeah i think a night show should be fine
