If/when I have children, I am never EVER letting them out of my site!!! My God the news makes me sick! It seems like every day there is some tragedy involving a child.
Whether it's a brother and sis wonderingout of their yardand drowning, aneighbor across the street taking captive, raping and murdering a young girl, a mother stabbing her two children over 200 times apeice, a girl being murdered by Meth Heads in IN, a "Pop Superstar" molesting kids and getting away with it, or two best friends little girls being foundstabbed to deathnext to their bikes. Fukk!
This is why I started that thread about having kids a few weeks ago...and all this has happened in the recent past!

yeah it is very sad what kids go through these days... there is a very fine boundry between being overprotective and not having enough control. I would lean more on the side of beingan overprotective parent myself.
That kid that drowned in White River ths weekend is seriously 1/2 mile from my house. I kayak that part of the river a couple of times a week.

People scare me every single day. I don't want to believe the things they are capable of, but sadly the evidence is there every single day in the news.
A small comfort for me, for when I have kids, in Australia is that our crime rate and the incidence of 'reported' child attacks seems to be a lot less than you guy's in the state's.
But there still out there...

UPDATE:
Father of the little girl charged with her murder, and the murder of her best friend....
I just saw that... I think I am going to be sick. I guess the dad just got out of jail recently and "reconnected" with his family. I think he should have stayed in prision where he belongs.

With things like this, it's the only time I truly believe in the death penaltysmileys/smiley7.gif

There will always be sick people out there. There is also nothing we can do about it. These sick people will continue to ruin people lives and they will rot in jail. Hold your family close. Dont let these wackos stop you from starting a family. Kids rule the world.

this kind of stuff gets me so nervous. i'm going to be moving 5 hours away in august to a place where i've only been once during the day. i'm not going to know anyone there. even tho this thread is about parents killing children, it just reminds me of all the sicko's out there...
