Problems transferring the show

Just finished my degree and my holiday so finally I've some time to
transfer the Oslo show to my computer, but I'm having some problems and
I was wondering if anybody has any pointers.



The show is recorded on a mini disc player. When played through my amp
it sounds great, but when I try to record it on my computer the sound
quality gets terrible, and the volume really low. When I play it from
the minidisc through my computer it sounds great too. I'm using a
program called Cool Edit 2000, which I'm not to used to.



Any tips?

1. what kind of soundcard are you using

2. are you sure the sample rate and bit rate match your MD, SC, and CEP?

1. My soundcard is probably outdated. It's a Creative SB Audigy Player (http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.asp?sku=108576&view=detailed).



2. I've no idea! The minidisc is borrowed and I'm not sure what you
mean with SC and CEP. I'm not too good with this kind of stuff.



At the moment a friend from work is trying to transfer it, so I'll
probably know how that went tomorrow. If you have a "transferring for
dummies" let me know!

ok, sounds to me like its a problem with the souncard not being setup
correctly for an analog transfer, you can do it but when you record
analog with an MD and not digital you can run into volume issues and
sometimes some pops and crackling.
