MTV or MTV 2

I want to know what you all think about this one. I am struggling with the fact that MTV just isn't as cool as it used to be. Remember "LIQUID METAL"?


They have "head bangers ball" on Mtv 2 now. I find myself watching Mtv 2 in the morning before work, instead of the news....

I agreed I'm not really a fan of either, but MTV2 is better. I also get Fuse, MTVJams, MTVSpanish?, VH1 Rock and VH1 Soul. Fuse is alright sometimes but I generally stay away from all of them.

I didnt votefor any of the choices because for one i dont watch mtv or mtv2 for the music. I watch mtv for the tv shows occationally.. Real World, wild boyz, punked and a few other shows are good in my opinion but if i want to listen to music i put a cd in..

yah some shows are cool, Viva La Bam cracks my sh*t up. I really liked the 1st season of Punk'd, now it's way over produced.

Punked was alot better the first season but jus the idea all together was good... Mtv has sold out if u consider the fans that loved what the show use to be like.. But they actuallyhave alot better ratingswhich meansalot more viewers with what they do now with there shows... And thats what its all about is money.. Makes the world go round u know ... lol Jus a opinion of the viewer i guess.. Cause im sure the people workin for MTV are lovin every bit of it.

I remember those too. "YO, MTV Raps" was the shiiiiiittttt! Snoop, And DRE ran that show. I am excited to see that they did bring "head bangers Ball" back. Liquid metal was on in early '90's. That is why I ran the pole... Mtv consists of more "shows" as opposed to "Music Television" which is what it's supposed to be. I wanted to know if people liked that more oris they think Mtv sold out. Mtv 2 tends to play more music, now.

MTV and VH1 are both horrible, but MTV is worse. They don't play music. It is all shows about celebrities or reality BS or some other pointless materialistic BS. MTV2 is good because it is all music. You have to remember that MTV's target audience is 11 to 16 year olds. Not me. I don;t even stop on it anymore.

I don't like anything on MTV. MTV2 used to have some good things on, (for example they aired The Mars Volta's performance on the Latin American VMAs) but now its just rap.

Cause people are brainless man...all these damn reality tv shows are rotting away our youth....screw paris hilton...MTV so so sold out...Mtv2 is ok sometimes....but they only play what they think is hot right now...and thats all that damn same music...(the strokes,jet,) I am sick of that sound already...it isnt new...its not revolutionary...it happened its called the late 1970's....all these writers braggin up this music call it revolutionary...it was revolutionary when the clash did it....thats 25 yrs ago...

i started disliking mtv years ago, boybands and britneys; aahhh!!! but, i'll watch a few shows on mtv2. the 'rock countdown' is not one of them. uugh, so lame. thanks for the poll though! pretty amusing! and i'll agree with b-love, b/c THE CLASH are one of my favorite bands. later all! smileys/smiley16.gif

remember when mtv2 came out? everyone thought theirlack of video problems were solved. I think it was quickly realized that they play the same 20 to 30 songs constantly and maybe throw in a few others in there. but now ive realized theyre not even doing videos 24/7 as they initally said they would! you can catch a making of: (insert movie name here) every now and again

personally, i believe the whole "express yourself" idea has been carried too far and if MTV stayed true to the music, i think their ratings would improve... they try too hard to "appeal to individualistic america" and forget they are MusicTeleVision...

For what it's worth, our MuchMusic is really crappy. Only good thing is MuchMorMusic has some concerts/specials on bands.
