Jack Johnson new video w/ Ben Stiller

The MTV vs. MTV2 topic reminded me about J.Johnsons new video for "Taylor" (great song) that I have seen a couple times on VH1. Ben Stiller and Jack Johnson?? I think Ben Stiller is alright sometimes but he is really annoying in the video. They interrupt the song a couple times so that he can make jokes and tell Jack how to act. It is pretty stupid in my opinion. Plus it kinda bums me out to see Jack on heavy VH1 rotation.Anybody else seen this vid yet????

I like Ben Stiller. ... and he was on a Puffy video too.. I can't remember what it was, but I think at the end puffy throws on some racing gear and like jumps over his house or something??? so lame.


I would like to see the Taylor video, why is Ben Stiller in it? Is it in a movie? I love that song... my daughter's name is Taylor :)

I don't know why he is in it. Celebrity cameo i guess, but he is like the entire video. Some parts are ok, but overall I think it is annoying.

There was a lot of discussion at the Jack forum about this. What they said was Ben is a fan of Jack's so their managers worked it out for Ben to be in the video. Kind of weird I think. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in a Ben Stiller movie. There was a clip of it on the Jimmy Kimmel show and I think it's on one of the Jack fansites for download.

That's all good, but he REALLY takes away from the song. I was so busy watching Stiller run around I wasn't even listening to the song.

i'd like to point out another ben stiller cameo in tenacious d's video for tribute. he walks by the booth where jack black and kyle are recording their "music video." the foo's dave grohl was a hilariousdevil though.it kind of takes the "cool factor" up a notchwhen other musicians make appearances in their friends videos.


quick question, if jack and g made a video for "rodeo clowns" i've never seen it. is there one? just wondering.

Wow people are coming with the heavyput-downs lately,people are so passionate here!!!, I like it!!! First off, calm down. This is only my opinion of the video, and I am not attacking anyone who liked it. I think it is great if you liked it, and that it caused you to buy the CD, whatever. We just disagree, that's all.


To be honest I was trying to imagine myself not being a fan of Jack's and seeing this video for the first time. I think a person who does not know JJ or his music would be distracted and miss the point, which is the great words and the great song.

My Opinion (for what it's worth as an OLDER member) is that I had NEVER heard of Jack Johnson and ONLY stopped to listen and watch the Video becauseI saw Ben Stiller while channel surfing(I actually like him...not toimply that hehas talent ..I do think he is funny at times) I didn't know Jack Johnson existed. Now I am the proud owner of 2 CD's and would have to let Jack know that it was because of Ben in the video that I am now a fan. smileys/smiley20.gif
