First real concert I ever went to. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam. 1991...I was a Freshman in HS, 14 years old. Had neverheard of Pearl Jam OR Smashing Pumpkins, went strickly for RHCP. This was the very first leg of the Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour before they broke through with Give it Away and Under the Bridge. Pearl Jam was just getting ready to release Ten, and was pretty much unknown.
We missed Pearl Jams entire set and walked around checking stuff out during SP. Didn't even care. RHCPblew our minds though! I couldn't walk when I left that show. 2 years later these bands were selling out venues across the world.

Maybe not a historic show, but I went to a great Pink Floyd concert in
1996. As usual the lasers, lights etc. were amazing, but maybe halfway
through the show the sky behind the scene got really dark and thunders
and lightning filled filled the air, adding some great special effects
to the already amazing show.
I was also on the guestlist for the Hives when they played in Trondhein
Norway maybe five years ago, years before their breakthrough. Just the
fact that they played my town is a sign of how far away they were from
MTV, but with my luck I managed to break my leg two days before the
show and had to spend three days at the hospital. Still bugs me that I
missed them and their opening act, The International Noise Conspiracy.

Ha! I'm too young to have ever gone to those gigs and not been squashed to bits! Yet I still like their music....
First gig I ever went to was an all Australian bandsevent when I was 16 at a theme park...sweetest gig I've even been to! (apart from the brushfire records tour this year).
Next is Ben Lee, Missy Higgins and then the Foo Fighters in December...
My parents took me to see Willie Nelson at the IN State Fair on 82. I was 4. I still remember him playing Momma's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys. That was the start of it all.

When I was 18 I saw Soundgarden on their last tour...they broke up right after that. Two lame things:
1) Had my nose fractured. I was trying to get this big guy's attention in front of me so he could put me up to crowd-surf, but I'm really short so when he turned around his elbow cracked me on thebridge of my nose. I went down like a sack of potatoes, but luckily the guy saw me fall and picked me back up. That could have been bad because I was on the edge of the pit.I recovered a few moments later and went up anyway, bloody nose and all. For years after I could rub that spot and hear a scratching noise, must have been a bone fragment in there.
2) My bf at the time got mad at me because I didn'twant tostay by his side the whole time, I wanted to be in there. He was a p*ssy and wanted to hang back...so we spent the whole concert fighting and he went to the car and sulked...he was such a dumbass.
The concert was cool, though.Kind of historic, I guess. Last tour and all.

the broken nose really sucks. I've only ever had sprains and bruises at gigs...
Lamest thing for me was a green day concert when I was 17, the guys I went wouldn't let me go in the mosh pit because they thought I was too small...ended up running from them through the crowd and getting in, only to be squashed and sprained my ankle...oh well, was totally worth the fun and games.

I attended Woodstock '99, it was the first time I saw G. Love, which was pretty cool. The experience was different. It's one of my top 5 concerts of all time, but it is also one of my least favorite at the same time. The music and people that I met and went on a road trip with were wonderful, but they treated us like cattle, $4.00 for a tiny bottle of water, 20 showers, 10 for men, 10 for women, it was hot, with literally no shade at all.

I saw the RHCP right before they released Californication in a tiny club. The only way to get in was to win tickets. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Granted they hit stardom, it was awesome. This was when the semi-original band was back together. To this day people are still mezmorized they played at this small club in Pontiac, Michigan. needless to say, it was awesome.
