and you thought Katrina was bad. 20,000-30,000 thousand dead, 2.5 Million left homeless in Pakistan. We lost under 900 in Katrina, and only thousands left homeless. Sad sad situation...

That is so sad. It really puts many things in perspective. Unbelievable what happens EVERY day in this world, most of which is overlooked. Unbelievable.

This year has been shit for natural disasters...started last boxing day with the tsunami, then all the hurricanes etc, then bali got bombed again for the 3rd time in 3 years...now pakistan...when the hell will it end???
My heart goes out to those people affected, because they barely had anything to begin with....

It's pretty amazing how the media shapes our perceptions and beliefs by the type and extent of coverage they give. Â*Â*That's unbelievable, imagine what it's like to be over there.
You may think you have this thing, or that thing in this world, but all you've really got is those you care about.Edited by: swaytosway

it always amazes me how a disaster pulls people together. I know it is a devastating situation but I find some positive energy coming out of this. Maybe that is just an optimistic search for a reason but I am not usually such an optimistic person, idealistic yes.
It is sad to see this happen especially to people who had little to begin with. I am sure they are searching for a reason to comfort them at this time and I pray that they can find one so that they'll be able to overcome this shit. That's really what it takes in these situations- strength and faith in beliefs. IMO
