The Wizard was definitely in the house for Chicago's Halloween
show. The boys were all in costumes from "Where the Wild Things
Are" and G did a nice reading of the book to open the show. The
boys then dropped two cover songs, "Wild Thing" and "Monster Mash" to
get it started.

The wizard was casting mad spells and beat-boxing with Virginia Coalition at the after party.

Fscking hilarious photos to follow.

I've been a fan for a LONG time, but the show at the Vic was the first time I had seen GLove in concert. It was phenomenal. The majority of the people in the crowd was dressed up; the whole area around the theater was abuzz with people going to various Halloween parties at local bars and clubs. Even the stage guys were dressed up. One dude in a cow suit was checking he mics and guitar before they started.

Then G came out dressed like Max from Where the Wild Things are, and read the beginning few pages of the book, then the curtain lifted and the set was all decked out with trees and a little sail boat in the artist's style straight from the book, and then out came Jimi and Houseman dressed as two of the wild things from the book and crowned G King of all the Wild Things. Then they played Wild Thing and rocked the house, then played Monster Mash and got everyone hyped up. Everyone was singing along; it was very cool.

My first thought when they came out in the costumes was, 'damn, those things must be hot to wear on stage,' but they all wore the costumes for the whole concert with exception of G taking off the part of the costume on his head towards the very end.

I don't have a list of all the songs played, but they played for nearly 2 hours with Kick Drum, Stepping Stones, I-76, Sweet Sugar Mama, Cold Beverage, I Love You, Astronaut, The Hustle, Sunshine, Give It To You, Sara's Song, Gimme Some Love, plus others, and closed with Baby's Got Sauce.

It was just an amazing experience to have had with this halloween show. With the show being so unique with the costumes and the set decor, it just made me feel like i was part some something really special and not just sitting listening to a band that plays the same songs the same way in every city.

I would LOVE a recording of the concert if anyone has it.

Wonderful experience, and I can't wait to see them again!

In that position, ragmop, you must have seen the wizard and his entire
crew, or at least the cloud of smoke we left behind. Photos of us
are on the way. There are even some photos with the wizard hat all
tucked down and shiznit out of respect for the boys and the rest of the
crowd.

We thought about staking out spot near stage when we got in, but elected for the first riser center on the rail. Great vantage point. Dead center. Above all y'all m-effers. smileys/smiley2.gifSaw the stage and the boys unobstructed. Thanks again. I did see the digital up in the airseveral times.

Always a pleasure my friend. Funny you should say that, the other day I asked the mister if he was hooked. he said no, however everytime i get on I've got to log him off and me back in, it is to funny. The only thing left is to teach little r to spell and it will be a family/phamily affair.

I am sure you will enjoy chatting with mr. r, I told him you were always a good person to get into a subject with. You and Mr. C, you both are great conversationalists. You guys just rock! One love.

it's a shame we didn't get to meet, but it's always good to put a face with a name. i was the fat rastafarian with the dreads and bright yellow jamaican soccer team shirt. and yes, the jizzoint that's in the wizzard's mouth was1 of 2 that i rolled for the show. we got a lot of people "glazed up in that ocean", and the wizzard took the second one for everyone after the show. shit, if you don't like my fire... then don't come around...cause we were going to burn that one down.

i met monica* after the show and she went as a fanta girl and was "fanta" "ass" tic. a really cool, genuine, person and a true g.love fan. i'm glad the meechwizzard is making these pictures magically appear in front of our eyes. i knew that andy, his younger bro,has all of them. and i've seen all of them...glad we're sharing. andy ormeech should throw out that link where all the pictures are. all three of us have been to over 30 shows and there are some great pics that andy has gotten over the years when garrett and the boys have rolled through the midwest. It was great to see the pic of g. love smoking the blunt we rolled a few halloween shows back at the vic. like i said in an earlier post...he stumbled off the stage a few songs later.

hope to hear from all of you that were at the show soon.

Rastaman,

That first J hit the crowd like a ton of bricks. I know we passed
that thing around for at least three rotations through at least eight
people. Nice work. The second put the lid on the
afterparty man.

I'll disclose the link once the hockey player sends me the rest of the
photos. The funniest ones are when the security guard was
accosting me and I gave him the "I have no idea what you are talking
about" look while I covertly handed the J to the rastaman for
safekeeping. That, plus there is a huge cloud of smoke over our
heads.

Booyakasha!

Word Twinkle,

The hockey player definitely has the skillz to pay the billz with the
autojammy. I had a blast at the concert and I wanted to make a
little show for everyone here to enjoy. I counted 26 concert
photos that contained the wizard in the shot which is freaking
hilarious. My favorite ones are of the security guard hassling me
over the wizard's spell of fire and smoke and the one whrere I knock
out the hockey player during Gimme Some Lovin. A whole bunch of
funny shit went down at that concert and I hope some of the people
involved see themselves in the crowd shots as well.
