Has anyone ever been or know anyone who has? It sounds really interesting. also fun. also like it'd take a lot of forethought and planning. It's out in the desert in Nevada for a week at the end of the summer. There are huge art installations, everyone is supposed to participate in some way. No vehicles are allowed. I think the only thing they sell is ice and coffee (that's the official line). Everything you bring in has to be taken back out. Each year has a different theme.
Maybe I'll get there one day, maybe I'll add it to my retirement dreams- along with the Geriatric G Love Cruise. In all likelyhood though, if I had the $ to go on that adventure for a week, I'd probably rather spend the $ on a piece of tropical beach and all the coconut rum drinks that go with it.Edited by: swaytosway

the bassist for my husband's band goes every year. you aren't allowed to buy anything, you must barter. he's a doctor, so he sets up a medical tent and treats people while geeked out on...stuff. he also takes his snth set up and does some rave stuff. actually some people that have heard his synth stuff out there have something to do with bonnaroo, and have asked him to do it at this years roo. he'll be playing in centeroo, but i can say i know someone playing at bonnaroo. (my husband started thinking stuff like maybe he can get us into vip areas and what not to meet people. my first thought was vip bathrooms!</span>)
but back to burning man. he has a great time each year. has some good stories so i've been told, although i haven't actually heard the stories. if you could swing going sometime i'm sure it would be worth the cost!

my dad's sent me links to all the pictures. but i don't know anyone
that's actually been. it looks absolutely insane, yet fun, too. it'd
definitley be an interesting experience. i have no clue what i'd be
able to offer to it tho.
