Although I don't watch Oprah, I did catch an episode she did on this very issue. It is appalling more is not being done for the people of africa, and these women specifically.

that gave me chills to read. it is hard to describe the depth of the sorrow for these women and rage at the people comitting this horrendous act.

The worst bit, is that there's SO many more attrocious things going on in other parts of africa too...


During the COmmonwealth games, 7 athletes from Sierra Leone left the athlete's village and disappeared into Australia society...they eventually got found, but the stories they told, especially the women, of what they faced if they went home....it's horrible...not only would they be objected to rape, but genital mutilation...it's horrible.

that was interesting Tink, I guess if it's getting the cover of Time magazine next week, it's becoming an issue.
But the proposed 'democratic' election for the summer sounds like a gong show. If anyone thinks after the election, then everyone will just get along and all the UN troops can go home....yeah right. How much misery can one continent take?

if you want to make a difference, trust the word from the masses can and will make a difference. We the USA along with the UN are negotiating a treaty for the atrocities to women and children, believe it or not a month ago nothing this month things are happening. here's the number to the whitehouse 1-800-224-2084, actually this is what I put on myspace page, the numbers are below.


I have got a few more foundations pertaining to this matter. But just call the whitehouse and register. we need every voice we can get.

Hey Fellow Space Friends...this is something that has been on my conscious for sometime now. It hurts my heart as much as the animal torture bulletin I recieved and a passed along..


It's crazy how fortunate most of us are to have what we believe is rightfully ours. Living in our country makes us often times forget about those whom are suffering so much so we have no concept and if we do have a concept , it's hard to imagine where to begin or how to help.So here's my part I'm reaching out. As your sleeping at night children in Darfur Sudan travel miles to stay in a cage for safety away the Rebels.....doesn't sound real does it? They are called the nightwalkers and they make this trek every single night while we peacefully sleeping in our nice comfy bed, having our nice nightly snack of delicious ice cream or cake or hot tea( in my case beer). This truly is a global nightmare. It is Genocide, it's hard to use this term, for genocide has happend so few times, actually I believe 1948 may have been the last major genocide. (don't quote me on this date) I am guilty when I say our own Humanity is doing nothing and we, not just as a nation but as a WHOLE with the WORLD.....Just can't stand by and let it just happen, the children are so beautiful and innocent, they did'nt ask for this and they don't want it, they just want to play and laugh and smile and be a kid , the freedom that which most of us here in America and United Nations so convenieantly take for granted.
