atmosphere is a rad rapper but claims to be black which is kind of weird to me. he is 1/4 black (i think thats what i read) and claims that since his dad and friends were black, it made him more black than white. worthless info. i know, but i think its sort of weird.....

so i was trying to recruit my siblings to go with me, turns out my brother and sis saw them almost 2 years ago, around the time they did bumbershoot and they have no desire to go back. that worries me, cause I trust their musical opinion somewhat, well my sis's more.

they said it was packed with 19 year olds, no offense, that's just what they said, not sure if that made them feel old, or they were commenting on immature idiots. But the worst of it, my sis said, was that they made the audience feel like crap. She was like, I paid to be made to feel like I was a loser and they were so cool.

I hope that ain't the case.

I only went to one really sticking out show like that, musta been 7 years ago, a xmas show, drove through a blizzard to get there- bloodhound gang-
it felt like they were making fun of the audience the whole night and it seemed like not very many people even realized it (or cared), which only added fuel to their pyre of superiority, you could just see them loving the fact that they were calling us schmuks and the schmuks were just eating it right up.

that shit ain't cool in my books.

I also did a stage dive that night, for which my knee has never fully recovered, I'm not sure if I jumped at an empty hole in the crowd, or if the crowd created the hole just for me- either way, ouch (Sway Catherine Gallagher gets her freak on, so gracefully)

So we got out of there just in time, somewhere between here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul8dPhjGPBQ&feature=related and here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo1UsZtRRVM&feature=related. They had already shut down one of the bridges back to St Paul when we left right after Atmosphere, and the riot police were EVERYWHERE. Then they shut down the other bridge, let the people walk all the way across it and had the end blocked, then came up behind them, basically trapping them on the bridge.
