It's kind of hard to understand, but it's a guy describing an accident

funny as all get-out.

now y'all know me as a cynic so don't jump down my throat--but does anybody else think that the recording sounded just a little staged? keep in mind that it is being used on a morning "zoo" program. the reason i say that is because 1) he is unusuallydescriptive of each action by each person involved; 2) he doesn't move along in traffic which i thought he was doing at the time he witnessed it; and 3) each perpetrator's reaction is distinct from the others and seems extreme and over the top (one has an umbrella, one has mace, one has a bible, one uses her foot to kick). i'm just saying it is unusual. that's all.

sorry, i can't turn off the cynic in me!

IMO I think the guy's laugh sounds totally genuine. Either way I laughed my ass off. Snopes.com looked into this when it first surfaced. Here's their take:

As to the questions of whether the account given above is an accurate explanation of the origins of this audio clip, and whether the traffic incident described actually took place, we have to leave them as "Undetermined" for now. A inquiry posed to the corporate offices of Jack in the Box restaurants produced the following response:
<DIV style="MARGIN: 20px 40px; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Thank you for your inquiry. The message that has been in circulation is an actual voice mail message. The incident occurred 5-6 years ago in Texas. I'm not sure how the recording got outside the company or if the employee still works for Jack in the Box, but the recording periodically re-surfaces on the radio and the internet. </DIV>
