can suck my balls!

just got back from bonnaroo a few hours ago. we ended up leaving early because of the heat that was making us crazy sick. we were on the fence about what to do, until one of our friends we were out there with encouraged us to go. seeing as he's a doctor, we decided to take his advice.

it sucks that we left early, but i did get to see almost all of the bands i really wanted to check out. course once i got home and had a shower, i really have no regrets about skipping out early. that was emphasised when i got on the scale and saw how much weight i lost. now i'm back in the unhealthy range.

it does piss me off that i couldn't take the weather, i mean i live in freakin' georgia. i'm use to hot weather. of course i'm also use to air conditioning and cover from the sun.

oh well. i'm squeaky clean now. i'll post more about the shows later. hope everyone is keeping cool.

What!?!? You left early? Oh Tink...say it ain't so...it wasn'teven half over!

And as for your doctor friend, he is a pussy. Why would he tell you to leave? The heat? LOL! Didn't you have alot of water? Did you not have a canopy of some sort? Did you not know what the weather was going to be like?

Hate to do this to you Tink, but that is fuggin wack. And trust me, I have been to my fair share of hot ass festivals including the first 3 Bonnaroo's, Coventry and Big Cypress (Phish),Beale Street Fest in Memphis etc. etc. etc.,among many others. Half the fun of going to a big, crazy, hot-ass fest is conquering the elements and the Festival itself. It's an accomplishment to make it through 3+ days of the madness!

You should have called me instead of your doctor friend. My advice would have been to drink more, and make it bearable instead of bailing. You missed the Superjam and Sat. Late night!!! That's the best part!

normally i would agree with you mr.c., but seeing as it was get the hell out or end up in the hosptial, we chose to leave. we had plenty of water, and drank it non-stop. we had a canopy. hell, we had a fan. i've been to a few big/hot festivals as well. we were prepared. think whatever you want, i'm feel better being home. i am again at a weight that is very unhealthy for me. sorry, but i take my health very seriously. i would have loved to have been there for all of it. that didn't work out for me.

i say good for you for knowing what to do. it always sucks in that kind of situation cause you wanna stay and have a good time, but personally, i cannot handle heat like that. i get sick just from taking a warm shower sometimes. i think there is something to be said for knowing when to call it quits. it obvisouly just wasnt in the cards for you guys this year. maybe its because i have so many health issues, but i just will not do serious risk to my health for the sake of seeing a show.

i know this is blasphemy on here, but i really dont like festivals anyway. too hot, too many people. give me night and a smokey bar. thats my scene. when i start vomiting or feeling like im going to, even when ive drank tons of water and all that, i draw the friggin line.

now, if there was a festival inside the vast caves of missouri that are 60 degrees even on the hottest of days, now that would be a festival i would attend.

my sentiments exactly LSV. I can spend the day in the sun happily, when I'm beside a body of water, but I don't like to spend any day around that many people.

Sorry Tink, hope you're feeling better. Maybe you should start training earlier for next year. Superhydration, work on gaining a few pounds so you have a reserve to fall back on, maybe get that dr friend to pack you an intravenous of normal saline- with a little potassium, maybe B12, for extra kick.Edited by: swaytosway

You know I had to give you some shit Tink, still love ya chica...smileys/smiley31.gif I honestly understand 100%. Everytime I leave Roo, or elsewhere I swear to never return again unlesss I have an RV.

No shame in that at all LSV, you know what you like. My GF is the same way, she wouldn't last 4 hours at Roo before she'd be ready to go, I guarantee it, that's why I will never take her....maybe if we had a nice RV w/ AC etc...

Like I said before, making it through a fest is half the challenge, and they suck big giant donkey balls when it is hot as shit as you don't have shade. I did like5 huge ones 2 summers ago, and I have only been back to 1 semi-big one since. Burned myself out big time. The quest to Vermont for Phish's last show was what did me in. I still don't think I am fully recovered from that fiasco.

I know this is a bit out of context (just a bit), but that's how it hit me, you made a little bit of my coffee come out my nose.Edited by: swaytosway

looking back, i shouldn't have gone. i really didn't expect to be hit this hard. just goes to show i have to work a bit harder to get healthy again.

and i expected to get shit from some one mr. c. it's actually kinda funny, cause one thing i told my sister-in-law was that the heat sucked donkey balls. great minds think alike.

if we go back to a fesitval that big it will be in an rv. i need air and a shower, but don't want to be to far from the action. i prefer to stumble back to camp and not have to worry about driving all screwed up.
