your best costume

so i like to get dressed up every once in a while. the best part for me is coming up with the costume. more the idea, and less the final outcome.

a few of said costumes are;

our friends decided to throw an 80's themed halloween party. i went as a hooter's girl because they opened in 1983.

for a friend's 30 birthday party the theme was something from the year he was born (1973). my husband and i decided to go a s roe vs. wade. we got him a white lab coat, put red paint on it, and he carried around a coat hanger. i was a pregnant hippie. and the belly was a great place to rest my drink all night. luckily the pregnant friend at the party was cool with it.

one of my favorites was for a festivus party. i took off my wedding ring and was single for the night.

of course i don't have pictures of most of those but i do have a picture of my toga.

my husband gets a little more creative than me sometimes, but mine was so much easier after working all day.

I'm mostly a slacker when it comes to costumes, too lazy to bother I guess. This is about the only picture I have of one. But my best costume would have to be when I was about 6 or 7. I was wonderwoman. I had a belt and crown made out of cardboard, spray painted, adorned with glitter glue. Plus whatever else wonderwoman wears, I can't remember the rest of it.

I never had any pics taken, but my best costume was the Keebler Elf. Yea, I sprayed hair white and all.

i havent really dressed up in years. i love halloween, but most costumes are totally uncomfortable to me so i never want to wear them. alas, no pics. one year my sister in law and i(back then we were just best friends) went as bananas in pajamas. we looked like jaundice raggety-anns.


another year some friends and i wanted to go as sigfried and roy, and the tiger that attacked roy... but the tiger ended up having other plans.
