Seriously check out the new album ROCKITY ROLL. From the lead singer of Soul Coughing. Very good lo-fi type album. Just a keyboard, drum machine, acoustic guitar, and vocals.

The songwriting is superb, the grooves are decent. It is a little more singer-songwriter-ish, but there is still plenty of funkiness too.

You can hear samples of it and purchase it at:

Thank me later,

MIKE DOUGHTY is a superb song writer. I have seen his solo show once, and Soul Coughing 3 times I think. It's to bad they are not together anymore. I strongly recommend them as well.

If you dig Soul Coughing & Mike Doughty, definitely check out BROCK. He is okalee dokaly. I've seen him perform with Mike Doughty twice in the last year. He reminds me a lot of G. Love & his band is incredible. i think their website is www.brockband.com (http://www.brockband.com)

Yeah, the pics on it, he looks and acts like G-Love. I thought it was a G-Love side project, the photos were so similar.

His flow sounds like a cross between Garrett and the dude from Fun Lovin Criminals.

The groove is a little heavier too.

I like Brock's looping stuff. That free MP3 download of Rise To The Top is real good.

Thanks for the heads-up on Brock. I'll keep my eyes on him.
