so is it just for the kiddies? i usually see most animated movies but have held of lately because they've mostly sucked. hoodwinked was the last one that i saw and enjoyed.

I like it, but I've always liked curious george, the good music in it doesn't hurt either.

oh cool! i want to get it so bad for the boys [ok, and me, too lol]. i was sad when i never got a chance to take them to see it in the theater. i know that pbs is showing the curious george cartoons again, but i can't remember what time.. i think it comes on after barney for us, which sucks, because barney is my cue to turn the tv off [stupid purple dinosaur].

i used to love, love, love the books when i was little. when i buy baby shower gifts, i often buy books that are collections of stories - curious george and peter rabbit are my favorites b/c i loved them so much. i wonder if people hate it that i don't buy off the the registry.

I just picked up a Don Freeman collection (remeber Corduroy the bear?) for my skittles this week as this was one of my all-time favorites as a kid. Peter Rabbit, Where the Wild Things Are, The Giving Tree,Harold & the Purple Crayon, Curious George, Hungry Little Caterpillar..... Isn't it amazing how years and generations later these stories still give us that warm fuzzy feeling?

Tink, as animated stories go, we took my little ones to see Cars and The Wild and both were great in my book. The Mr. even liked Cars which is saying a lot.;)

Barefoot, i loved all of the books you mentioned, especially Corduroy! Every summer i went to sumer camp for two weeks; on the way home we would stop at a specialty kids book store and i could pick out a bunch of books. I still remember what the book store looked like, the displays, the recommendations the owner would make, etc. it's one of my favorite childhood memories that i will one day pass down to my kids (except for the fact that it will have to be at Border's or some other huge store lol). I also used to love Paddington Bear.

I love the curious george soundtrack and the best part of it is that I can play it in my classroom.
Being a teacher, I have a TON of kiddie books. I love them. There is one, though, that I remember liking as a kid and as an adult/teacher, I HATE it.

Babar.

Elephants in clothes? and his parents get killed by poachers? It's messed up.

Before we had our little one I used to buy kids cd's. I picked up a reggae for kids and jerry garcia and david grishman not for kids only. two great albums that she now loves. As for curious george the PBS show at least round my way comes on a 8am. Ash watches it every morning and while we have the movie soundtrack we have yet to see the movie but are super excited.

I teach first grade. The Pokey Little Puppy was my favorite because it was me in canine form. It was my nickname for years. I have a lot of favorites now that it's the majority of what I read. some that I hate, though.
