Here we go homeboy. Up and away. Why does flying on a plane give me such a surreal feeling? Too much time to think, fitful sleep, sitting in a seat for endless amounts of time, turbulence and red wine...man, I just don't know.
I've just been in Boston for a good week off and then bamf--I'm back in a cab, back in a line, back on the plane headed west, way west, to Perth. Just yesterday, I walked by the block where I played out on the street in Harvard Sq. Now I'm going halfway around the world and you know. I probably will play some of the same songs when I land in Western Australia tomorrow (or the next day) that I played in Harvard Sq 13 years ago.
Anyway, I was walking down the street playing these licks in my head that I heard on the Little Walter song "rollercoaster" and also his song "Mellow Down Easy". Little Walter is the illest harp player says I, for his tone and phrasing, he just can't be beat. Well my dinner just got here. I'm starving that's probably why I feel so funny in the first place ya know
