WEll, I'm off to Seattle today, rather excited for my double whammy, although it ain't GLASS in philly at the dvd taping, but it's to be sweet, for sure. Maybe I can retain focus to get a few pictures, we'll see. (ha ha first things first, get across the border)

sooooo much fun!
It was so great to see Taj Mahal up close singing and croaking and strumming.
One set wasn't enough at all. The place was a shmancy kind of dinner theatre thing, where you have to stay in your seats. So the best I could do was get a swivelling paraplegic groove going on my barstool. It just seemed kind of unatural for everybody to be sitting still in seats and eating filet mignon while it was going down, but so be it, still sweet.
Ozomatli was the shit. Another band where the live show is way more than the albums. The fucking horns were wicked and just as I thought, having so many up on the stage was amazing. They had all these cool instruments like clacky things, and shaky things and tappy things. (say wha?). So much fun!
I highly recommend both.

well, with the number of songs that man has, I wasn't expecting to know any of them, but........
I knew checkin' up on my baby, corrina, fishin' blues. We sat next to a guy that said he was an old friend of his, so I utilized him like the yellow & black cliff notes. He played one that had the funkiest beat, possibly it was Louisiana Blues, it even had spanking in it. impressive. Creole baby. The uh-huh blues. But it really didn't even matter to know any of the songs, just to hear that big, going way back voice, that was enough.
