I'm just passing on the stories I found interesting this morning, albeit a little nasty, not so fluffy and warm.

The first one is about the push towards biofuel, in an effort to keep the place green, less carbon emissions, la de da. Countries which are actively pursuing this find they don't have enough agricultural land to support all the plants they need. In this case, palm oil for europe. So they subsidize other countries Indonesia, Malaysia, for example. What is now being found is that although the biofuel has the capacity to be greener, it also has the capacity in production to be worse for the environment. It said Indonesia has quickly climbed to the 3rd spot for CO2 emissions, behind the US and China, mostly because they have been clearing land for these plantations and draining + burning peat bogs. "Oh dear," I said.

This 2nd one is about sextuplets born in BC. 2 died already. The parents are Jehovah's Witnesses, therefore not wanting any blood transfusions for the children, would accept blood subsitutes. Recently 3 of the 4 surviving were put into govt custody, so the transfusions could be given, then returned to parental custody after. I certainly don't agree with much a JW has to tell me at my front door and I don't agree with senseless loss of life...yet there is also something disturbing about the government and even health care having the last say. I guess I'm imaginging some futuristic covert plot coming into play. I guess it's also important to distinguish these are children which cannot make their own choices yet and need to be given the chance to live long enough to make choices for themselves. But then we could get on to the astronomical medical costs to keep severley premature multiple infants alive, in addition to the likelyhood they could have multiple mental or physical disabilities through their lives. But then we could get on the craziness of people sticking a dozen embryos into their uterus, in an attempt to make 1 baby, then deciding a carton of kids is always good to have on hand, or something like that ;) Finally, I said, "oh dear."

how quickly the tune changes, fickle fuckers we all are. biofuel, once the belle of the ball that everyone wanted to be associated with- now she's in the same breath with 'Rears her Ugly Head.'
It's out of control, which you can see when you read this article.

I realize sometimes all the ramifications can't be known when we are glomming onto the next big thing; but, I just don't see how anyone can justify continuing such practices when the bottom line is known. It's like the guy down the street who is so meticulous about his lawn that he's out there with a leaf blower after every gusty day, blowing the leaves within his boundaries onto the road and the adjoining properties. Well, la dee da---yes his square plot of grass looks lovely...but who gives a shit when you take a step back and look at the whole street?
Personally, I think we're gonna keep trying and trying all these different plans to try and continue with the energy status quo and we're gonna find that everyone of them has some inherant snafu. I think it may well be, that our only hope is enough people realizing we have to change. internal, not external. It's akin to the megamoola diet industry, or the pharmaceutical industry--sell the quick fix, it's what the people want---when really people would do a hell of a lot better in many cases, to just do the work, whatever the case may be.

I've only read the one article about the sextuplets.

It is a hard call. What I wanted to know was were these babies a result of fertikity drugs?

Rowe said naturally conceived sextuplets occur only once in several billion births.

Hospital officials declined to say whether the parents used fertility drugs.

Do me that makes a big difference. If they used fertility drugs then they took the risk of having multiple births and all of the associated difficulties. I think if they had medical help in conciving, they'd damn well better use that same help to give these childern a shot.

This is based on an understanding of the Biblical admonition to " abstain from ... blood," based on Acts 15:28, 29, and also on Leviticus 17:11,12, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood ... No soul of you shall eat blood," and of Genesis 9:3, 4, which they understand to be the first instance of "the Bible’s clear prohibition against taking blood into the body."

I don't get it at all, but I do believe people have the right to their own beliefs, and practices. I wonder if this was effecting grown men, and not little babies or mothers during childbirth~~However, regarding the single patient presentation of pregnancy, a 2002 medical journal stated: "In the CEMD the very high risk of mortality in women who refuse blood transfusion was highlighted. The death rate in this group was 1 per 1,000 maternities compared with an expected incidence of less than 1 per 100,000 maternities."~~would it still be viewed the same way?

'Do me?'

well, that's a little forward for 5:42 in the morn, my time....but I'll certainly consider it shark-- sneaky how you stick the subliminals in there, you wanted me to think it was all my idea, didn't ya? Next thing ya know we'll be making fertikity babies and the tables will turn.
Those that banter on other people's business shall become that same fodder. ouch, plus we'd have a wack of wack babies. ha ha
