Well that's a wrap. We went out with a bang last night in Squaw Valley. We performed as the wrap up party for the Skiers Pipe and Skiers Cross Challenge. Simon Dumont won the pipe contest. Today is the Skier Cross event.
At the pre-show meet and greet I met some of the worlds best skiers. Simon Dumont, Pete Oleneck, Johnny Mosely and many others. It’s always cool to meet these peeps that are such amazingly talented athletes. I have known of these guys for years since my work as a commentator for X Center and the pleasure was mine to hang with these cats for a second.
The show was sick and we shared the bill with the legendary Wailers! Talk about a tough act to follow. I was jamming out in the crowd for their set. They dropped so many BM&W hits and every song sounded as good as a record. We shared a dressing room and after the show I was blessed to take a picture with the legendary "Family Man" Barrett. I also got Fam’s and guitarist Al Anderson to sign my J 45 acoustic guitar. Now I have a pretty nice bunch of signatures on my guit, Slash, DJ Red Alert, Big Daddy Kane, Steve Jones (of the Sex Pistols), Conan O'Brian, Family Man and Al Anderson. On my other guitars I've got Bo Diddley, John Hammond and a lot more....
I'm going home now, home to see my kid and play my guitar at the dining room table. It’s crazy to think back on this month of touring. Honestly, it feels like a whole year or more. This life is a whirlwind. I think you have to treasure every moment cause a moment is a moment and then it’s gone never to return. Live it up.
Peace out,
G
