G. Love Post - Going Back to Florida

Back to Florida. What is Florida? Why is Florida? Who is Florida? Where is Florida??? Yes, these are questions I have been searching my soul to find the answers to as I fly once again down to the land of sleaze and strip malls. Florida is mostly populated by people from another glorious part of the USA, the Tri-State area. The Tri -State area (depending on how you look at it) is Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware or Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Over the years millions and thousands of these Tri-State people have migrated down the notorious I-95 to the very end which is…Florida. Some of these people simply missed their exits over and over again and ended up there by accident. However, some people drove that road on purpose to find an end to North East slush and see if the Cuban sandwich could in fact compete with the hoagie. What these east coast people found was a land that stayed warm all year round, the very place where orange juice was created, they found strip clubs, theme parks, golf, alligators, tourist attractions, endless strip malls and miles upon miles of virgin wetlands to develop into cheaply built and expensively sold real-estate.

And yes it’s true my own dear parents have migrated there as well. Down I-95 to the swamplands of Sanibel Island. They enjoy bird watching and golf and actually live in a town that has protected the pristine natural resources of the beach and the wetlands.

I've been going down to Florida a lot these days and I'm going once again but rest assured I will be going back to the North where everybody is cold, sarcastic and completely miserable. How else would you wanna live!

Hey Man. i'm originally from South jersey and moved down to fort Myers about 10 years ago. I actually play in a band down here and live about 2 miles from the Sanibel bridge. Telling you bro philly is finally starting to take over thiss area. Most of the musicians=Philly, most of the bartenders=Philly. I've been going up to jannus landing in st. Pete to see you and I've brought your tunez out in my sets. I cant go back to jerzey, I aint going back. I'll be up in Avalon for a while this summer.
