Well I apologize; I’ve been off the blog this week, no excuse, just running! We enjoyed you all on our first week out on tour. Every show was sold out except for Bloomington, IN but I have to say Bloomington was the most jamming crowd. We also had a sick afternoon mud fest gig in Lawrence, KS yesterday. We shared the bill with an excellent Indy band called the Faint.
What else? I had Steve "Traveling Blues" out at the show in Cleveland, OH and I posted a bunch of jams from backstage on youtube (phillyglove is the station name).
The Expendables are on tour with us- they are kind of like Slightly Stoopid, checkem’ out.
I was just in the bathroom and read some graffiti. It said "Iraq will win". You know, it’s crazy, there's not going to be any winner in this war. Again, today, the headlines read: more suicide bombings in restaurants and city buses--there is no way to win or even fight a war against people that will kill themselves and innocent people for their cause. The problems the American soldiers face in Iraq are so deeply and historically rooted and its questionable if the policy makers have really studied the roots of these conflicts…it would take a PHD!! There are tribal grudges and deep hatred between the Sunnis and the Shiites, what can the US hope to accomplish there and how long will they continue to stabilize a region that’s in complete chaos? What will happen to people that helped the US when the US pulls out? It’s a situation completely out of control!
