So--- I'm going and yesterday I found out that Hilary Duff is playing and it left me very confused. I just can't see a music festival such as lollapalooza having a large fan base for Ms. Duff...

I hope people check out her set just b/c it'd be really sucky/embarassing if not a lot of people watched her set or if people kept walking on by. I'm not really into her music, I like her new stuff its fun to listen to in the car with my 12 year old niece b/c its dance music.... but I don't think I could get into it at festival.

So what i've decided to do, if there is not a band I have to see conflicting with her schedule, then I will go and watch it for a bit--- but the minute she starts playing that STUPID STUPID STUPID song "wake up wake up on a saturday night..." I'm outta there man.
i just think that she's trying to branch out to other to other audiences to maybe expand her fan base from pre-teen girls. Which is totally fine- I just hope she doesn't flop. She seems like a nice person.

Anyways here's a list of the bands I plan on catching in no particular order

Pearl Jam -- only US appearance and I promised my friend Mason, who LOVES pearl jam more than I love GLaSS, that I would go and see them for a bit.

Ben Harper- obviously, he sold out his NC show- so now i have to go.

Modest Mouse- I love the song float on!

The Roots--- I love love love them. (they're from Philly, I wonder if they know G. Love)

Kings of Leon- Jessie Baylin's bf is in the band and I love the song "soft"

Regina Spektor- I think she's cool

Spoon- great band, not a genre I typically listen to but they're pretty great.

Lupe Fiasco- Coasssst!

pete yorn- huge crush on him

G. Love and special sauce- duh, only the best band ever! lol

Paolo Nutini- finally i get to see this kid live.

Amy Winehouse- what a bad ass chick...i have to support her.

Slightly stoopid- pump me up for summer haze

STS9 and their afterparty--- i feel like i am on good drugs when I see them live and i haven't taken anything.

The Rapture--- oh my my my I've been wanting to see them.

Rhymefest- has one of the coolest rap songs- "brand new"

Juliette and The licks- Juliette lewis' band and they are the shit. she's really vulgar live apparently and I like women musicians. Also- their first album was just great.

I would imagine that she (Hilary Duff) is playing the Kidapalooza (http://www.lollapalooza.com/kidzapalooza.asp) stage/area.

That would make the most sense.

Kids under 10 can go to Lollapalooza for free with a ticket holding adult.

My niece is 7, and though she could go, and that would be fun, I don't think I'd really enjoy that much babysitting all day long.

But if my bro decides to come and wants to parent her all day (instead of tuning out), that may happen. Then we can alternate potty runs and get a break now and again.
I'll only take her to Hilary Duff, however, if NOTHING else of any worth is going on....which I doubt. LeLu's taste isn't quite as diverse as mine, but I'm all about expanding her musical palate. :p

They do have other great stuff for kids though...My favorite part is the rock & roll petting zoo.

Is she playing? I think/hope/pray that it's just a joke....

I want to see every last bit of every band, which is why such fests are not my favorite way to see music.
