I'm staying in tonight...I had food poisoning a couple nights ago and I still feel a bit queasy. We are staying at my Sister and Brother-in-law's house in NYC. I've been sleeping on quite a few air mattresses this week. Tomorrow is my bro-in-law's b day so we are having a party in central park.
New York City has become my favorite city on the planet. There really is no other city that can compare for me. Now, of course I represent, I was born and raised and I am a true Philadelphian by birthright!! But if I could live anywhere right now it would be in NYC. This city has it all. The other afternoon I was sitting by the side of the Hudson River strumming my guitar and giving some soul right back to this amazing place.
I was checking out the phillyglove station on youtube tonight. I was checking out my tribute to Mississippi Fred McDowell when I came across this ill clip of Booker White. Man, I picked up some cool licks. I can't wait to wail on this blues tomorrow. He does this cool rhythmic slapping of the Dobro and it looks and sounds amazing. Youtube is the coolest place to learn guitar licks-crazy! Make sure you check my videos- "phillyglove" is my station.
