1. Bob Dylan "Blonde on Blonde"
2. Jimi "Are you Experienced?"
3. The Who "Live at Leeds"
4. Talking Heads "Stop Making Sense" (honestly, more the video, but the music is earthbreaking)
5. The Clash "London Calling"

HM. Radiohead "OK Computer", U2 "Joshua Tree", Bob Dylan "Another Side of Bob Dylan", Buddy Holly, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and a wild card Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots"

I'm curious, are there any other big Talking Heads fans out there. I think we can all agree (especially as GLASS fans) that Bob and Jimi are key, not to mention blues like John Lee, Muddy, and Robert Johnson. But you also can't deny that there have been some great bands who push the limits on what is rock and roll. When rock gets boring, when pop starts to suck, there have always been great bands who pop up and keep it real.

Springsteen, Clash, Talking Heads, and now bands like Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Mogwai, and even REM give us our future. What do you guys think about the progression of rock and roll to where it is today?
