View Full Version : G. Love Post - Street Scene

It’s Saturday morning in sunny San Diego. I'm sitting at the Baja Fresh in down town SD. You know Baja Fresh and In and Out burger is the best fast food joints on the planet right? That's one thing the west side has over the east side, fast food. Also freaky transient people. There are so many freaks wandering around the streets of San Diego. Because the weather is so nice all the time, people are just on the streets. There are definitely and unfortunately plenty of homeless people in the east coast cities but there is something clearly different that's hard to pin down. Maybe the drugs are different out here…more meth. There are also many more younger homeless drifters in the west.
Back to the subject, Street Scene is today and I'm ready. Yesterday I got to the hotel and marinated. I ran over my set and shedded out for a few hours. Check out the youtube I did last night: Back of Da Bus. I did that joint last night. When we were out on the Summer Haze tour with SS and Ozo, SS was doing this great beatbox breakdown. It reminded me of how we used to break it down in the All Fellas Band. So I was like shit I gotta start busting that beatbox out again. I've been sleeping on it!
Tonight is definitely the Haze reunion so it should be dope! I'm ready and I'm going to rock this joint tonight. Rock it tonight, surf in the morning then I'm off to Boston then Philly to kick it in the studio with Chris D. We gotta finish this new record we are working on. Shit sounds tight. That's it for now. These fish tacos are the bomb.
Peace out

I've seen Baja Fresh, but I've never been there.
As your loyal minion I will eat at Baja Fresh tomorrow.

I think it's all the rage everywhere except the East Coast.
Definitely in the South and Midwest/Plains, and according to G. the West.

you should find a picture of meth mouth... i mean really.
Oh also, there is a billboard in these parts that's a picture of a woman who likes her meth; its a before and after expose.... can you imagine having that plastered all across NC?

I still say Burgerville beats out In and Out any day.
Only the people that live in Northwest Oregon/Southwest Washington are privy to the local awesomeness that is Burgerville, though.

I never watch the news, but the 5 seconds I give it when I'm channel surfing. 8 times out of 10 they've got some over-blown story about a meth house crack down somewhere in the Metro area. Portland is trying to be a Little Seattle, which is trying to be a Little LA, which is probably the drug capital of the US [all thanks to Hollywood. Glamorous, isn't it?]
There, there's my meth head rant.
I'd much rather talk about Burgerville though.. Mmmmmmmm sweet potato fries and fresh, chocolate hazelnut shakes. They only come out in the fall, though.. Such a pity.

Yuck! Tweakers suck. California has it's share for sure but back to the burgers....
In & Out Burger is by far the best burger ever! My very first job was at In & Out in high school and man let me tell ya those babies are fresh! Mr. Barefoot still has my name tag on his visor in his car as he always found "In & Out Becky" amusing .

(first of all, sorry about my english)
I just came from your (short) show here in Rio. Short because I'm soooo a good fan of you that whatever you'd played was'nt enough.
And it's strange for me because I'm not that type of girl that use to be fan when I was younger... but music is something that, nowadays, i take it very seriously.
and your music !wow! always blowed my mind!
Here in Brasil, whenever a woman has something special we say that " she's got a salt" (if you know what I mean...) and you just got a special sauce!
It was amazing that you could keep the audience so high with just you, your guitar and your harmonica (JUST?!) It was more than a pleasure to enjoy you palying.
I really hope you can have fun in the sun her in Brasil.
thanks for everything,
Clara
