Kerala, the ‘God’s Own Country’ is not only endowed with natural greenery but also wide cultural diversities. Each of the 14 regions of the state has some differences in arts, crafts and other festivities.

The easygoing fun loving people celebrate these events with much pomp and gaiety. As of late, some of these festivals has now become major events cutting celebrated by people forgetting their regional differences.

The most famous festival in Kerala is the Onam festival. Normally celebrated as a harvest festival during the harvest season of Kerala, which falls in the months of August and September, it is a season utilised by many for indulging in fun, frolic and entertainment.

Also known as the ‘festival of flowers’, it is also the ideal shopping season in Kerala. Businessmen from all over India arrive to sell their wares. Film producers, launch their new productions during this season and leading corporates utilize this opportunity to launch new products.

The Elephant March associated with the Thrissur Pooram, the ‘aranmula uthrittathi’ a famous snake boat carnival; the Makaravilakku and Thiruvathira are other popular festivities unique to this part of the country.

yeah that is nice, if I had thousands of dollars in the bank, maybe I could go to 'god's own country' too....guess I better keep believing god is in me and everything else, cause that's the only 'god country' I'm getting to anytime soon.
