I absolutely love Henry Rollins! Big, muscular guy, bedecked in tattoos and a simple black t-shirt, and articulated and opionated....hell yeah! I would love to see the show.
Sometimes his ramblings make me think of Sway. ;)

Chances are, you were feeling pretty good up until a few years ago. Of course we don't get everything we want and things don't always go as we had planned. We don't win the lottery, we lose the big game, we're outbid on eBay, we get pulled over, laid off, flooded, phone tapped as we shrink back from the bottom line as we chase our dreams but, for the most part, things are pretty swell.
Then you became aware that all was not well. Stubborn belly fat, can't sleep, can't get up, can't get it up, can't get over that hangover, not happy enough, too stressed, bones weakening, lines deepening, hair turning gray, hair going away. The economy is down but your cholesterol level, fat per pound ratio and blood pressure is up, up, up! And then as you're in bed, in your deathbed watching TV, advertisements come to the rescue as they inform you that stubborn belly fat isn't your fault, it's cortisol, a nasty stress hormone that's causing your weight gain. If you order now, you can fight back with Relacore, Hydroxycut, Cortislim or one of many other cortisol blockers. You're not overweight, just overstressed! You're not depressed, you just haven't found the right prescription yet.
Thanks to modern medicine, the husband can shout triumphantly to his wife, "Honey, I just washed down two Cialis, a fist full of Relacore and two Prozac with a Bud Lite and Harvey's Bristol Cream chaser and you've got up to 36 hours to take advantage of my aroused, stress free and relatively content state. This cost a lot of money so you might want to take some Excedrin and some Avenavin and get ready to rumble! After that, we can take some Paxil to take the edge off and get some sleep before the kids get up!"
And then one day you turn on your PC to find out all your files have been corrupted because you opened something sent to you by a stranger who was in love with you, or had problems knowing what to do with all the millions he has jammed in some bank account and only you can help, or the heading on the letter that was too interesting not to investigate: ALIVE REAL AND HORNY BUTT WOMEN ARE PREPARING TO INVADE YOUR HOME!!!! And so, thanks to some intellectually over stimulated student somewhere in the world who thinks that fucking your computer up will somehow call attention to the evils of the world, your Dell is now dead. And then the birds start getting sick. They're coughing and sneezing well past the cold and flu season and we're not prepared. Several birds and a few people have died so far. Several birds and a few people have died in Detroit since I started reading this off the teleprompter.
Is it all going to hell in a handcart? Well, yeah it is. But we'll be too busy growing our hair back, losing inches off our beltlines and controlling our outrageous states of arousal to notice or care. Folks, life is short and brutal with a few moments of joy, surprise and epiphany so cheer up and turn up the freedom rock!
Oh my goodness!! Thanks to the pusher, I mean doctor-prescribed dose of Levitra I'm on, I just came in my pants! Oh, and you know that ad where the lady says that the fat around your belly isn't your fault? It is actually.

Yeah Barefoot, I figured it's 20 some odd dollars worth of entertainment. I'd rather see him preforming music, but hey!

Have fun. He and I don't always agree politically, but I love that man. Black Flag was one of my first big musical influences as a 7th grade skate punk. I'd love to see him sometime.

Not too shabby.....maybe a little obvious in his observations and conclusions. I don't think I'm seeing anything in a new light, but I was entertained.

That's Henry flippin Rollins!! He looks down right chipper to me, of course I'm used to seeing him more like this, from his days in Black Flag.

Me too, that's why I think he looks weird, i.e. not himself. Maybe I've just never seen a pic of him with his mouth closed!

Speakng of Henry...Mr. C you might be interested, or completely indifferent to know that I thought of you during his show because he kept saying internets....
I've been editing the video I took at the show to get his story out of singing with the legendary punk band The Ruts. Paul Fox the guitarist just died of lung cancer on the 21st. It can be seen on my youtube channel if anyone is interested.
