Ok I been gone a while so I got some catching up to do. Please excuse the excessive posts today.;)

For those of you who enjoy a good workout, do you have yourself a "workout playlist" for your Ipod? If so, I'm just curious what ya got on it? I've stepped up my time on the old treadmill recently and am looking for some good running/keep your ass moving tunes.

Sway, I know you must have some suggestions. ;)

well, I am not organized enough to make a playlist specifically for working out. I have 200 songs on my ipod and I just flip through them as I feel. I think this also serves the purpose of giving me pause whenever I wish to slow it down, distract, fiddle, whatever---like going to the bathroom to make the food come faster in the eatery (can't remember how to spell the R word right now, too many vowels)

Anyway, today was something like this, in no particular order, except the 1st song was 1st, I do know that because it is my obsession of the week.

outlaw love- don mccloskey
music- beautiful girls
buggin' out-tribe called quest
dreamin'- glass
STP- sublime
dang- buck 65
digital and hold one to the one- SS
got up this morning- sage francis
give it what you can- the meters
resist-lifesavas
4000 miles- blackalicious
groovin' slowly-john butler trio
all brothers ain't brothers-jasper
everyday sunshine-fishbone

My playlist is so crazy my husband just kinda shook his head when he picked up my player last night. Aside from the usual GLASS, SS, Pepper and Sublime there are the selections definitely NOT in my everyday listening choices. In fact, I think some of them may be the dumbest songs ever but the music has a good beat I can keep pace with:

Black Eyed Peas - Pump It, Hey Mama, Let's get it started (ick)
Kylie Minogue - Can't get you outta my head (seriously?)
Gwen Steffani - Holla Back Girl (gag)
Anthrax - Bring the Noise
The Cars - Moving in Stereo (I love the Cars)
Beastie Boys - Intergalactic (Who doesn't love Beasties?)
Fat Boy Slim - Weapon of Choice
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground
Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell
Ozomatli - Saturday Night
RamJam - Black Betty
Chevelle - Comfortable Liar

Hmmm. I have to check out more of Don Mc Closkey. I took a quick listen and I liked what I heard briefly.

Cat Empire I just can't get into. Maybe I'm like Sway with Pepper and just can't warm up to them?? Tell me where to start with them, Tink.

hmm, I have a "running" playlist on my ipod...it's actually for when I go for road runs and do fun runs, but it's also my gym workout thingy....it's got about 80 songs, including a lot of GLASS, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Usher, J.Lo, Grinspoon, Cat Empire, RHCP, a whole surfing video soundtrack, Fuel, Panic! at the disco, Tonic...a lot of heavy, and upbeat stuff that keeps me going while I run on the treadmill and pump the weights.

The funny thing about the gym is that I'm ALWAYS wondering what other people listen to...I can imagine what the boys do, but always interested in what motivates the girls :)
