are you on glue?

If Tink were to be on glue, it would probably be very expensive, crafty glue, possibly laced with glitter, and I bet I'd know her dealer!

Now that sounds dangerous!

Sorry, um...that was distraction #75....

Happy Thanksgiving...eat up!

all right I'll talk turkey too.

here's an article about adopting turkeys instead of eating them. You might be thinking, 'not fuckin likely' and this is certainly valid as it does not appear to a be something you'd want to do lightly or while under the influence of captain morgan's egg nog.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/22/dining/22turkey.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

[Adopting turkeys, which can weigh more than 40 pounds and have a penchant for pecking, is not like adopting a kitten or a puppy. Although some owners report that their turkeys are sweet and like to be petted, the birds can try even the most dedicated animal lover’s patience. For instance, they molt. And then there are the abundant droppings.

Not just anyone can adopt a turkey. There are site visits and income reviews. Sheds must be built, and veterinarians secured. And then there is the deal-breaker: the family must be vegetarian.

...turkeys, like some children, can be fickle. “All of the sudden one, for no reason, they will turn on you and decide they don’t like you anymore and peck you,” she said. “I had one that would just fly at you, and I would have to carry a rake to protect myself.”]

Seriously, I'm not adopting a turkey; but, reading this has spurred me to renew and recharge my vegetarian effort. I don't eat much meat still, but I've been making excuses for things like ham on my sandwich, or a thoughtfully marinated chicken breast, even some bacon. That's it though. I'm gonna try harder. Read this nastiness:

[The turkeys adopted by the couple near Santa Cruz came from a Northwest plane that was carrying several thousand baby turkeys, called poults, from a breeder in Canada to a rancher in California this July. The plane was delayed for hours in Las Vegas. Many poults died, whether of the heat or suffocation, but some were saved by animal rights activists.

Whether the turkeys come from a shelter or the White House, they don’t live very long. Most adopted turkeys are commercially bred broad-breasted whites, genetically disposed to grow to a marketable size in about four months. Even on a diet of only a couple of cups of turkey feed a day, they become obese. They usually develop leg problems, congestive heart failure and arthritis.]

today is a day for me to sleep late and take my time getting ready.

i think i'll stay away from adopting a turkey as well. but i won't be eating any turkey, never been a huge fan.
