Yo. Great show last night. Loooong... I'm not an expert on the band, but this show was something special to me. I got there (with two of my very drunk lady friends) right when the doors opened at 8, and we grabbed some real estate front and center. Louque was great, and I hope they do well, because I really dig their sound. And you gotta love the guy on the keys with the apple computer and a ton of effects... a mini Jonny Greenwood or somethin.
Anywho, after them, there was a pretty long break before GLASS came out (over 30). But they came out at 10:35. I felt like a tool taking a ton of pics and writing down the setlist in the front row, but I've noticed that the setlist department has been lacking as of late, so I hope you appreciate it, even with my ignorance. Here's what I got, correct me, please:
1 ?
2 Dreamin'
3 Freestyle
4 Recipe.... Jimi Solo
5 Back of the Bus (new song)
6 Garbage Man... Chuch Treece on drums
7 Kill it and then bring it back to life
8 Rhyme for the summertime... Chuck on drums, House' on Vocals
9 Baby's got sauce
10 Lets make love tonight
11 Cold Beverages
----
(Encore)
(Solo Acoustic:)
12 Gimme Some Lovin
13 Lonesome Blues
14 When We Meet Again
15 Herb
16 Booty Call
(Acoustic With Band)
17 Rodeo Clowns
18 On 9-11-01
(Back to 'Lectric)
19 Parasite
20 Freestyle Oldschool Rap... Chuck on set, House on bongos and wood blocks
21 Kick Drum
22 Unified
23 I-76
Show Ended at 12:50
Total G. Love show time: 2:20
If you were at the show and can help me with the opening tune and let me know who rapped with G (20).
I thought it was a great, well thought out setlist. After some tuning problems early, it took him two or three good songs to get in the groove, but they got locked on pretty quick. He did a good number of unreleased songs, as well as two Electric Mile songs, along with the staples. Everyone seemed in good spirits the whole time. G played good harp, especially on the extended Kick Drum. Insane guitar solo on Parasite. A lot of freestyle for his hometown. A few nasty cracker girls got up on the stage on My Baby's Got Sauce and I-76, whatever. Also, 5 solo acoustic songs, thats a whole set in itself. Can't get enough of that acoustic blues in C.
Security was tight, and I'm sure the band had a lot of friends there, so they didnt want nothing to do with us riff raff off the street... Oh well, next time.
So yeah, it was chill. I took a ton of good pics, which I'll put on my site and put a link up here sometime this evening.
