Hello everyone

I saw the band last night play at Axis in Boston and it was excellent! Axis is one of the smaller places I have seen them play and I think it brought the band back to their roots a little more. They also played quite a few older songs that many of the youngsters maybe didn't know ("Milk & Cereal") which probably contributed to the back in the day feeling.

I also met Jimi Jazz before the show. And his friend David who performed with the band later. Very nice guys. David said hehas been playing musicwith Jimi for a very long time and under some of themost diverse conditions.I can only imagine.

Jimi was full of energy and really put on a spectacle in his performance. I didn't think a bass could dance like that! G Love did more rapping than I remember. And I think he was just thrilledwithplaying some of theclassics. And his blues guitar finale was simply the best! Houseman was excellent -especially during "Cold Beverage".

The band is definately on fire with a lot of college-age faces in the crowd. I'm 26 and went to my first GLaSS in 1997 and there were not a lot of people my age there last night. I guess that isa good sign but where did all the old hats go? I was looking forward to this show for months and it was all that I expected it to be.Although I was kicking myself all night for not bringing in my camera. Oh well, haveto wait until next time.

I have to thank the band for coming back to Boston. They love what they do and I love that they love it too.And thanks toJimi and David for being approachable and just out mingling in the crowd.Edited by: douging

I too was at the show at Axis and I am also 27...I have been listening to G Love since back in the HArvard Square days when he was playing for money...I was thrilled about the set list...Really brought back memories..I think I have seen the band play probabl about 20 to 30 times since 1995 and I will be going when I am old and gray...I cannot get enought of their music and will be a fan for life...Glad to hear that I wasn't the only person shocked that there were alot of young people there...I'm happy they're getting themselves into some great music at an early age...

I was there, and again surprised at the number of youngins...not sure if it's good or bad, but I was one of those once...I remember back in the day (95 or 96) whe I saw G open up for Rusted Root, and sneekin into the Roxy to see G. Play (I was under 21 at the time). it was the best GLaSS sho that I have seen to date and MUST get a booteleg of it

OhYeah! That was some niceness. Despite the crowd, and not havin' much room to shake, it was an amazing time. Intimate, front porch/living room vibe..it was like chillin' with some good friends, alot of em'. the younger crowd is great, so good to see this music infuse different generations. The youngn's are so important also, just spreadin' the word, and having the time to do stuff like keep this board rollin'. I most def agree with some other posts that have menitoned the music just sounding really sharp. The fellas seem excited, and should be...i have a feeling some really great things are in the works...someday soon. Milk and Cereal was interesting to hear, though seemed a bit out of place, perhaps Garr played it cause his son was there?
But yeah, the set from the old to the new, to jams from G. that seemed more musically sophisticated, it was all just killin'. Can't wait till next time. It was great seeing everyone. Stay Up! paul.
