What do you have?
I have a 1st Generation Microsoft Zune that has been modified with a 60GB HD. The 1st Gen Zune's all came with 30GB HD's, but I found a kid in their forum who was upgrading old Zune's with 60GB HD's and selling them on EBay, so I bought one from him. Same price as the new 30GB's so I was pretty happy about it. You can watch him do the upgrade here...(this is the actual one I bought from him)

I bought an 80GB Video iPod and had a lot of problems uploading songs from WMP to iTunes, and then to the iPod. I had about 23GB of music on my laptop and it took me literally 9 hours to upload 4GB (1000 songs) to the iPod the first night I had it. The Zune reads WMP automatically since it is a Microsoft device, and uploaded all 23GB in 45 min when I hooked it up. I was in tears I was so happy with it, so I am a Zune owner for life.
I plan on upgrading to an 80GB 2nd Gen this summer...I only have 5GB of memory remaining and have yet to add all my live stuff.
Whatcha got?

The Zune sounds wicked tight. I got the Mrs. an iPod for Christmas and we have had problems importing from WMP as well. It's really slow and only wants to do one track at a time as opposed to an entire album. She loves the iPod though. It's only a little 8 gig but the new gen that plays video with the smaller design.
As for me, I have a Sony MZ-NHF800 mini disc player. I think there are only 4 of us here in the states still using this format. Everyone else is in Japan and Europe.
I'm very limited on the space tip at 1 gig per Hi-MD disc. The main selling point for me is that you can record live to it. I like that feature so much this is my second MD player. The first one lasted 01-06. I've had this one since 06 and it has been solid. It has a radio tuner in the remote is which nice if you want to tune in to a tv freq at the gym or check the weather when backpacking/hiking/camping. I don't really use the radio function for music. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a disk of music in there if you ask me. Plus quality radio stations with a music format are hard to come by. You can store data on the disks too and use the player as a jump drive but like I said the 1 gig of space is a limit and I think you can do this with iPods now as well.
When they make an iPod or Zune you can record live to then I will upgrade at some point but for now that's the feature locking me in to the MD. I'm satisfied with it.

I think Sauce has a Zune. I kinda think that they're like having Beta in a VHS world, but I'm open to the idea that they may be a better piece of technology . . . Are they, really?
I don't see the point of having a video ipod other than the fact that it equals more storage. I have no desire to watch postage stamp-sized videos, but I wouldn't mind the occasional photo stored on my ipod, and I do covet the amount of storage, even if it's a bulkier piece of gadgetry than my smaller nano.
I may be in the market for an upgrade/trade up/etc around my birthday/Navy grad in July. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif

Well...There's an ipod accessory (NOT made by Mac) called the TuneTalk Stereo that's reportedly pretty decent/easy to use for live recording.
I know a few peeps who use this to record live shows and/or podcasts. It's got a decent mic on it, but Chris D actually recommended it to me and said you can patch into the soundboard with it in a cinch, which sounds pretty attractive to me!
Based on all that hype, I almost bought it myself a while back, then realized it was not compatible with my 1st gen ipod nano. Drat!
There's another recording device for the ipod out there (the name fails me at the moment), but the TuneTalk Stereo always gets better feedback no matter who I talk to about it.
As for the mp3 player itself, I'm happy with my nano, especially the fact that so many accessories are available for it...especially the underwater case made by h20 audio that I use regularly (Seriously, best thing ever!!!).
As for itunes though, I think it's total crap and hate it. I mostly dealt with it until recently, when I downloaded the latest version and it phucked up my whole collection, more or less. Duped files/moved files/multiple libraries, akfjdfj! So, itunes, it is to be war between us?!?
And that's all I have to say about that, for now. (wordy as always, but I'm thorough, no?)

I have a first gen iriver Clix actually. It's just a little 2GB one, but hey, it was also free lol
It's a good little piece of technology, though. It holds songs, pictures, videos, games, text files, picks up FM radio stations and even records audio files.
I haven't been able to use it in quite a while, though, because when we blew up the OS on the lappy it stopped syncing with my Windows Media Player, no matter how many times I un-installed and reinstalled everything with the CD :(
