View Full Version : Tour was butter

Just got back from tour. What a vibe!! Great feeling from Florida to Maine. highlight shows were Myrtle Beach, Asheville, Killington, Maine and Winooski. All of the shows were great though, except for one or two wacked crowds, you know who you are, but even those shows were dope.

Thanks for showing so much love for the new songs a lot of them will be coming out on the new record, The Hustle, right now slated for August 31st release date. Also, we played Suicide Bomber a lot and that one, although I don't think it will be on the record, was an important song to play in the wake of the Madrid train bombings. Also, with the election right around the corner some of us may want to consider the root of terrorism which,in my oppinion,is mostly the fall out of war. Our current president seems to be participating in a lot of wars... Get out and Vote.

Back to the music... Home now to finish up the record and get ready for the next leg of this spring tour. Props to Jim and Jeff, who played their assesoff on this tour and goodbye to Bob, our guitar tech, who has jumped ship to go back to school.

I have been asked to do a songfor theSublime tribute record. What song do you guys think I should do? Otherwise, we will see you out at a theater near you. I can't thank you all enough for you support and dedication to this band. But I will try, and this new record is the BOMB!! So one love and I'm out.

Peace, Garrett

ps. How do you like "The Booty Call"?

Booty Call was way outta sight....I fell in love with it the second I heard it...Can't wait to get a copy of that...What a wonderful birthday present it would be for me to get a copy of the new album...August 31st...It's always been a special day in my life...Well, keep up with the new tunes and keep playing hard...It was great to see you in Boston again...I felt horrible about all the techno in the background but those of us that were really there for you didn't hear it anyway...Peace and love to you and Aidan...One love is G Love

I thought Booty Call was dope! The crowd at the Boston show was kind of wack but I thought the show itself was great. Probably one of my favorite shows since the one at the Roxy a few years ago.

Suicide Bomber was definately a nice touch to the evening also...I was also wondering if 9.11.01 would happen to be on this new album? I would really like to get that on CD... Edited by: glova

YoG! Booty Call was really sweet man.Thelyrics areso true.I was at Philly when you played that. I also really liked that other song that the other guy drumed to with the really good beat. I'm not sure if that is going to be on the new album or what and to why Houseman didn't play that. Whatever it was, I really thought it was a pretty cool tune. I can't wait to pick up the new CD man.-Jeff

G,
1. Thanks a lot for this tour, caught two shows, dug it through and through so that i didnt know what to do. I hope this isnt the end, because, I mean, its like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the world, you say if the world is indeed infinite that how far is to far, and if it stops, whats stoppin it? and what's behind whats stoppin it? so what is the end is my question to you.

2. There's Nothing wrong with the booty call... just make sure you do it in the right way...

3. Badfish sounds like a good one, love to hear you do that, or maybe Santeria... whatever

lookin forward to the new cd. Vote Bush

Peace, Love, Monkey Business

got to get in on this and say GLASS could do an unbelievable "Dont Push," and number two choice would have to be "40 oz to freedom."

Can't wait to see you guys in Columbus OH. I'm diggin' some of the setlists lately. I was pissed my frined got to hear Recipe and Free at Last at the Asheville show. Maybe some Recipe/Cloud Nine, Train to Skaville, or Cold Beverage w/ the Rock it, G Love Freestyle added (I've been listening to alot of the 99 shows lately).

Sublime covers:

Doin' Time as the first choice, followed by either 40oz to Freedom, 5446 That's my Number/Ball & Chain, Smoke Two Joints or an acoustic Pool Shark.

PS - You gotta put Suicide Bomber on The Hustle. It's a great tune.

Peace

Yo G,

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed yourselves on the road. Booty call is awesome, definitely needs to be on the album. Badfish sounds like a good choice, but I think you guys should rock Garden Grove. Either way we all know whatever you do will be dope. Can't wait till August. Be safe out there.

couldnt agree more with those shout outs to 5446- ball and chain...one of the illest songs done by brad. he combines all different sounds in that song-garrety ou can def.sick version. otherwise you could go a great version of greatest hits or jailhouse. when would they release the tribute album? cant wait to hear the new album but what i heard live was cool as hell. bombers is great- esp. considering the recent events. hope the tour continues strong. we miss u back in philly. peace and love.

As for the sublime cover album, i think you should do the song "what happened" i think it suits your style really well. It's got some great party lyrics that you could bust out. Also, any more info on that cover album would be great. when's it come out? who else is on it? what other songs are on it? etc etc etc. anyway let us know what song you end up doing. Peace

Hey Garrett,

I thought the lyric, "You got the salad, but I got the dressing" was tight. "The Booty Call" is a fun song that I'm sure everyone can relate to at some point in their lives! Sublime's "Caress Me Down" would be nice to hear from you
