awwwhhhh-
I feel a tear clamoring down my steely facade, my stoic icy exterior fears a fat droplet of saline could rust the structure, girders oxidizing in a cascading reaction that will not stop until it breaches the foundation, crumbling inward till I am only dust.
It's rough to have to be the strong pillar of rock all the time.
I love my dad, he's great, I remember him giving my brother a lecture because my brother was making fun of me for not coloring pictures in a coloring book the 'right' way. That was when I was 5. I remember him giving me a sermon about how masturbation was normal and nothing to be ashamed of, yeah that one was about 13 or 14, the day after he walked into my room and got and eyeful of me pawing myself. haha good times. He'd take me to swimclub practice at 4:30 in the morning, 16 years old. He went with me in my first half marathon. Somewhere about 5-7 years ago, he must've decided life was short and he was going to go against all the emotional distance of our lives. He hugs me now, which may not sound like a big thing, but I think thats something to be proud of, being able to make changes 50 years into life, humble enough to admit he's fumbling, just like we all are. yay dads!

I'm closer to my dad now than I've ever been, and I'm loving every minute of it.
