I think it's time that B. Love relinquish his position and the Moderator torch be passed to yours truly.
I mean, I love B. Love, he's my guy, but he has not even visited the Phourm since 02-25-2008 and his long absence and irresponsibilty cannot be overlooked or accepted any longer.
B. Love be damned! Mr. C. for Mod!!!

it could be argued that you have also had long stretches of absence, how do we know you won't turn out the same under the pressures of the position?

While I may not post for weeks sometimes, I am always lurking. Always. Lurking, watching, waiting for my chance to pounce!
That MFr B. Love hasn't even visited in 4 months. Unacceptable!

Meh. C'mon Fred!
I would be a fantastic Mod. Soon after my inaguration I would; First, start a thread listing and archiving radio stations, local music stores in our various towns w/phone numbers, and internet addresses like Last.fm that we should begin to barrage with emails and phone calls in regards to the promotion of Superhero Brother. I would ask that we all participate in this thread, and gather information for all of us to use. I would include Siruis and XM stations and contact info in this thread as well.
Second, I would organize duties for each of us to carry out in regards to the new album release. Think Fight Club's, 'Operation Mayhem.' This would include; 1.) Visiting music stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, indie shops etc., and rearranging the albums so that the new GLaSS album takes up as many shelves as possible. 2.) Try and get posters from the Admin/GLaSS for us to hang in the hetty areas of our town and give to the indie shops promoting SupBro (only putting them in legal/approved places) 3.) I would assign a band's forum to each Phorum member to join and promote GLaSS and the new album. Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic (me), Citizen Cope, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Avett Bros., Sublime, JBT, Ben Harper, Galactic, Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers (me), The Roots, iPod Forums, Zune Forums, Last.fm, and any other band you would like. 4.) I will also follow-up on this by joining each of these forums myself, act like another fan and continue to bump the Superhero Brother thread on a regular basis, several times a day if needed, through the end of August possibly into Sept.. If you are currently a member of another forum, you can choose that as the forum you will be assigned. However, you may infiltrate as many forums as you like, even Ashlee Simpson's. More than likely I would come up with a weekly duty for all of us to carry out. Also, spraypainting a GLaSS message will not be suggested or encouraged in these duties as it is illegal, but it will not be frowned upon.
Third, I would delete all the threads from that 'internet government' douche, and ban all of his/her handles.
Finally, I would inform the Admin in a timely manner when the stickies start to take up most of the first page. My attention to this topic will be ongoing, unlike the above points which will be enacted immediately.
See. I getz shit done. These actions will only take place if Mod status is granted very soon. Since the new album drops on Tues., I suggest this happen ASAP. I would recommend emailing the Admin and directing them to this thread so that my promotion can be expedited. Your support in my endevor is much appreciated.

Heh, that's perhaps a little bit more proactive than most of us were expecting.
1) A thread with 'rare tracks' of G. Love would be appreciated.
2) I'd love if we could keep up with his radio appearances
3) Where's your tattoo? I expect a G. Love 'lemon' somewhere on your person, perhaps making a sneaky appearance above your arse crack.
4) Bit of policing and tidying up wouldn't go astray.
Sound like something you can manage? :D
I don't visit the Jack Johnson forum anymore - the place has become so green proactive, I feel a bit like I'm being bullied. Shame too, he does good music.

O rly? Hmmm, I never read that thread. However, I haven't recieved any emails from him/them, and that dude hasn't posted since Mid-January. Have you heard anything from him? WTF!? And he's getting paid?! Bleh. Maybe that Erik dude is B. Love! I like his ideas though, they sound like some of mine. Great minds...
Anyway, I would just be concerned with getting things going here amongst us, and trying to have fun with it. Like I said, I haven't heard anything from this street team, or seen any ideas or interesting threads from them. I would be happy to start making things happen myself, or (hopefully) facilitate ideas from the Admin and this Street Team and put them into action here. Maybe this Street Team guy has info that we should know about, but doesn't have the time to post it. I don't know, but I would be happy to be his 'guy' here in the forum.
My goal would be to have these things in action on a daily basis, and for them to be something we can all take part in and report back with what we do, or what we find. Not in a sticky that everyone ignores and that there are 50 of here, but just threads that area active and being bumped and updated regularly.
Maybe no one actually gives a shit, however, there was thread entitled ' The Snorum' a few weeks back so maybe this will spark some interest and get some interaction going.

Hey, tell me about the JJ forum some more. I went on there the other day looking for Jack's Bonnaroo set trying to find out what songs he did with Eddie Vedder, and everything looked new and confusing. Is there a new forum? Just a new layout? Is the old forum still around? What does 'green proactive' mean? How did they bully you? If elected Mod, would you like me to organize a board invasion of the Jack Johnson Fourm so that we can all tell them what a bunch of wankers they are?

The Jack Johnson forum changed to it's new layout when the new album was released. The old forum no longer exists. Yes, everything is new and confusing.
Green proactive... well, you're free to hang around and discuss Jack Johnson as long as you don't mind being reminded every step of the way about the things we should be doing to save the environment. And I have nothing against the environment, but sometimes... I just want to talk about the music.
I pointed this out there and was banned. No warning. Just suddenly found my account deleted and I couldn't sign up again.
Oh, and they also seem to discourage talking about Donavon Frankenreiter. I assume it's because he left the Brushfire Records label.

No way! You got banned for making that little point?!? That's very crazy. I wonder if there is more to DF leaving Brushfire? Why would they discourage talking about him? They are still friends, and he still makes good music? Right? Hmmmm.
One GREAT thing about this forum is that you can pretty much say anything you want and nothing will happen. Trust me, I've said some extremely crazy stuff including bashing GLaSS, his website, other members, and this forum and nothing has happened. Kudos to the Admin's for letting us speak as we wish.

I applaud JJ for what he is trying to do there, trying to make it tangible that our 'drop' in the bucket has power. On the other hand, philadelphonic holds a special place in my heart, for the freedom of expression it allows. Last I went to that site, someone had made a different JJ forum, like how the old one was, not happy with the greenery and alleged censorship.
Mr. C what do you think with the announcement that we are on the cusp of a new site? Do you think moderator involvement will change? Or do you think same old?
Really, we could use more of a presence, not only to delete the spam and certainly not to be the 'keep the thread on topic' police, but to create discussion, engage, quality assurance, recruitment and retention. Keep the baby going when she starts to snore.
I'd hoped once I stopped posting various stuffs, that the slack would be picked up, I thought perhaps I was monopolizing, discouraging the genesis of threads by others, but I've seen no such evidence to support, though I'm giving it more time.

really people, I leave for an evening of schmoozing and cerebral debauchery, I come back and whaddya know? fuck all has been posted. Really, G's phorum should have more action than this, there is a problem which cannot only be attributed to me being a thread whore (metaphorically speaking), nor me scaring a few girls off with my self righteousness and disdain for girly gossip. I'm not sure how it got to this point, but the numbers on here do not match the popularity of the trio, now quartet (sometimes octet, might I add that I am so pleased to have seen the philadelphonic horn section on the youtube videos, very sweet. I know I've said it before, but horns create a value added product every time, voila, the 2 x 4's become a lavish treehouse.)

I think that's BS that they booted you Boogey man. I too applaud him/them, but have a section for greenness and activism.
We do need a moderator, actually 2 moderators I think, for all things mentioned above. It's be nice to have an introduction thread for new folks to have somewhere to jump in at.
Man sway, I would love to see the Ozo-Stoopid, rather Philadelphonic horn boys, tour. Not much better than a lavish tree house!!

We don't need two moderators Miss S. Just one good one.
I would be happy to start a newbie intro thread, but I would also bring back Sway's 'Member Soptlight.' I thought that was a great way to introduce someone new, or old to the forum and get some conversation going.
Sway - keep posting, I doubt your posting drives people away. Most people lurk, that's just the way it is. This board has like 3000 joined memebers and 60 active members. Oh well. And I'm not sure what will change with the new Philadelphonic, probably nothing.

perhaps though, it should not be sway's spotlight. If memory serves me correct, that turned into a rather creepy sorta moonie cult derivative, as well some people, I found do not want the attention, nor do they feel mingling with me is good for their rep. But it was interesting reading about fresh personalities.

that'd be a den of aural shangrila, horns are the best of all.
Fat Freddy's is my favorite music right now and liberal use of horns is one of the reasons, not only that they make use of them like they tell another version of the same story, layered accounts of the same event, if you get me.
Try here at 5:38, or watch it all if you like. But at 5:38 there is a sweetass buildUP.

or the morphine, also getting more play these days, the pull of the horn is pervasive. (persistent too, on more than one occasion I've awoke from my internal reverie, to find I'm driving 10km/h on the shoulder of the road, slowly stalking 14 year old boys walking home from school with their lumbersome black instrument cases, band issue...hahaha, that was a joke, not that weird)
