it's been crazy for the last twoish weeks in the metro atlanta area. gas has been hard to find. because of the hurricanes and such we haven't been getting the supply that we normally would get. personally i've putting off the search for gas simply because i didn't want to sit in line. most of the stations in the area are out. it's been a crap shoot as to which station is going to get gas, and it's guaranteed that they'll be out within a few hours. this morning i realized that i was dipping below the quarter tank mark, and it was time to seek out the oil. the station next to my work had gas as i drove to work, but i didn't have time then to wait in line. a mere hour and a half later that station was sold out and i had to find an out of the way station that might not be bone dry. luckily i knew the area since eric and i had an apartment there 4ish years ago. i was able to find a kroger that had gas, with a 45 plus mintue wait that is. so glad i got paid to sit in line waiting to fill up my tank. thank goodness i can make it another 2 weeks!

I actually remember the gas lines of old. I'm glad you found some. How much are you paying for a gallon?

It waivers out here between just under $4.00 to $4.20-ish. I don't have a car right now (I can rent when needed), and I'm enjoying it for the most part. Especially when stories like this are told...sigh...

It's only $3.75ish up here. Even with that I haven't walk so much in a long time.

it really depends on where you can it. i was lucky to have found it at kroger, they have been pretty consistent with their prices, so i only paid $3.96. alot of the places in my area are $4.19 or so when they have it. the most i've heard it being it $4.39 up in north georgia. i'm fortunate to be so close to work now and we really limit our trips. word is that the situation should be better by early next week sometime.

ours converts to about $5 gallon,
but no lines or running out,
I can imagine how that incites fear in the masses.

We're just under $4 also...

we have been in the same boat Tink. Last week 85% percent of the stations here were out. The places that did have gas boasted the same lines as ATL and were running out in just a couple of hours. Since Thursday it's gotten better. I have really seen lines the last two days. Many stations have at least 87 octane but I still passed 4 or 5 stations that were completely out.

I've started car pooling with a friend whose office is near mine. Had to adjust the work hours some but it has easily been worth it.

anywhere from $3.79 - $4.05 here. Depends on area of town and if other stations nearby have gas.

we're paying $6 once you convert (or $1.50 a litre), but that's on the 'cheap' days...other days it goes up more. So I think you have it cheap :)
but we also don't have to queue for petrol...
we did go through a period where some stations were chaining up some of their bowsers so that people couldn't use them and then had to fill up on other days when petrol is more expensive. that sucked!
