You know I'll be there!! I hope you can make it so. No no I know tink can make it so!!! This will be a hard one planning it so far out in this world of instant gratification.

well i figure if i start planning it now then i can go ahead and get a good deal on a hotel (back to me asking you more questions of where to stay shark:rolleyes:) and then keep an eye out for airfare deals. once angi and i figure out our trip i can see how much time we'll actually have to spend up there. i was so disappointed that i didn't make it to chicago last year, i sure don't want to miss out this year!

so start planning people! jorie, when's the last time you visited your parents? liet, might be fun to take justin to his first festival;)? hen, you gotta have some excuse to come to chicago! sauce, sway, stricken?

during the summer (my favorite time in chi-town) has been about 4 years. hmmmm....just might have to make a trip. usually i go right around the 4th of july-maybe just bump that back about a month? DAMMIT, YOU INSTIGATORS!! of course, as always, my financial situation will play a major roll, so here's to hoping i get my sh*t together!!:D

Weeeeeee!! Tink you might want to ask Ang-A-Lee what hostel she stayed at, it was right down town I know one people from Europe used to stay at in Lincoln Park. We always stay at the Congress.

Liet even to come for one day would be great. We always take all 4 of Ellie's kids on Friday. I think I'll bring my 3 too. They have great activities for them, and it's tons of fun! They can play instruments, get 'tattoos', make totes, get punk hair, rap and scratch, lots of music and dancers. Kids under 10 are free. We'll hand the little ones off to their daddies before dinner, and keep the 2 older ones with us.

Stay downtown(ish)!
Hostels are a good deal, but the place we stayed at (Arlington House), I would never go back to it. Dead heat of summer and their wasn't even a fan in the room!?! Super suck! It was just a 15 min train ride away. Lots of options in that short distance, I'd start looking now if I was any of y'all.
Right in downtown, there is a very good Hostelling International location (http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Chicago-060034.en.htm) just around the corner from the Congress that I have stayed at many a time, and it's awesome, right in the middle of it all, and well run...and they have A/C as if it's actually from this past century!
I don't remember if they have private rooms, but for the single traveler, it's a super bargain at like $35/nite and it's about 3 blocks from Grant Park.

Regardless of if/where/when/how long, I would call NOW to reserve it, cuz summertime in Chicago is busy!

Yeah, who else went? Plans for myself and the other gals def didn't materialize for this one. AM & her hub went to Avett-land for the weekend. (HUGE show in Charlotte!)

I am going to see the Kaiser Chiefs at Lollapalooza this year BEST THING EVER but at the FYE meet and greet tent it doesnt show that the Kaiser Chiefs are going to be there. I was just wondering if anyone knew if they were going to be in a different place, or sadly wont meet anyone.

As long as I get to see them perform Ill be happy, but meeting the band would make my life

Am I missing something here? Is it just me?
