once again this festival will be taking place over memorial day weekend, may 23-25 in washington. it's held at the gorge amphitheater, one of those must visit venues i feel.

since angi has a long weekend due to the holiday and i was planning on visiting her anyway, we figured why not go the extra mile. at the moment not too many details have been announced. the official line up hasn't been revealed, although sun kil moon, and peter, bjorn and john are confirmed, and the avett brothers have been rumored (of course this would have no possible effect on the interest of angi or i:rolleyes:.) so any other west coasters interested in a little camping adventure?

Line-up should be out in late February.
Add Kings of Leon and Animal Collective to the probably maybe list.
More rumors and such other info can be found on Sasquatch's blog (http://sasquatchmusicfestival.blogspot.com/). They have yet to officially update their main website for 2009's big gig.
Pretty spot, though. And I do believe there's camping. I'm looking forward to it, immensely!

There is camping! For an additional fee, of course. Sign me up!

I don't know what type of camping experience you seek, but an 8 foot plot ain't my idea of camping. When I went to the gorge before I stayed at the wanapum state park and it kicked ass. big sites, a beach, nice enough bathrooms (don't pee on your campsite though or it attracts snakes, I think that was the problem anyway, ha ha)
It was close to the gorge too, I think, 10 miles maybe, not sure, but not far far.

Well, mostly by camping, I meant to imply that I'd rather camp than stay in a hotel, especially in such a beautiful area.
For real camping and the nature experience complete with fireside chats and pine needles in my breakfast cereal, I'd opt for what you mention, Sway, all the way.
In the interest of proximity to the fest and partaking in the "look-it's-like-we-built-our-own-little-town!" atmosphere of the fest itself, I'd settle for the smaller plot (but 8 feet? What HELLISH fest did that to you?!? Eeek!) and good camping buddies.
Tink makes a mean breakfast (and lunch, and dinner), no matter the heat source. And I've been known to make a bloody mary or two to wash it all down.
I would def like to get out and see the Columbia River gorge itself, so maybe there's a way to do both/all in the same weekend. i.e. Set up a tent on-site for naptime and other times we don't feel like driving back and dealing with traffic/gate checks/etc.
Always a big fan of doing it ALL, am I! :D
Was that a hint of interest from you Sway, or a great big ermmm, not so much?

alright maybe 8 feet is an exaggeration- but I did stay at the camping for the gorge venue once for a few days and the outhouse was filled to the top by the end of the weekend, it was like a liquor fuelled diarrhea & toilet paper stew. yes, ewwwww. but I don't think the may weekend would be so bad, you'll be fine.
and if you meant by good camping buddies, the peeing in the campsite-- that was me and my sister- we don't mind, we stick to the periphery, but then so it seemed we had a snake border patrol all through the night- which we didn't figure out till morning though- during this night, high as kites, we thought we were being stalked- we'd lay very still, then when one of us couldn't take it anymore, we'd bolt up with a big flashlight waving ninja style, 'get the fuck outta here, we're on to you'-
haha, makes me laugh just to write it, such losers we can be, yet such good fun.
I'd wanna wait to see who was playing, I don't dig festivals- but if it was really good, maybe, but probably not- I hated all the people in that venue last time, the walk down, all the people everywhich way-
but I'll wait and see the line up before I lock in/out-
and of course there are other logistical considerations-
thank you for the invite.

Some days I miss those drug fueled adventures. Haven't we all done stuff like that once or twice or....
